Helmet with tinted "glasses"

When MSTRS and yungatart were at the Carterton sprints, they were talking to a KBer, (they don't know who) who has a helmet with a set of tinted "glasses" inside it.

They can be moved up or down with a wheel on the outside. I ride with a tinted visor, 'cause I don't like wearing glasses at all, let alone under a helmet. But this has it's disadvantages (getting caught out later in the day etc).

I'm just wanting to know the brand and model of this helmet. Of course, the KBer in question with this helmet, will be able to tell me, but I don't know who this KBer is. Any information etc is much appreciated.

sounds like a good idea. kinda like a double visor, tint on the outside that can be flipped up as it gets darker, leaving the clear one in its place. or maybe some kind of swapping mechanism, when one is down, the other is up, and they change position when the second is lifted.
of course, the visors would both have to fit the curve of the lid to avoid wind drag.

Nah this little tint thing on the inside. You turn the wheel, and it slides down over your eyes, you turn it the other way, and it slides up, out of the way.

That sounds an awful lot like a military flight helmet. Ag pilots use them too. Did it have large ear bumps (for headphones)?

They're very cool (and expensive) helmets ... not sure if they are legal for bikes or not but would be great for touring with good audio.

I have a lot of trouble with sunstrike and am going to do something about it. I asked Motorad for a tinted strip on the top 1/4 of the visor but they'd never heard of such a thing

No, would have been a standard motorcycle helmet. And that's not a tinted strip, it's a piece of black vinyl. Go to a signwriter (A vinyl one, not a painter) and ask them for a strip of black vinyl across the top of your visor. Should be next to nothing, if not nothing, cost-wise.

The Nolan Group is introducing for the models N101, N83, N42 and X-1002 the Vision Protection System (VPS), which can also be installed as an accessory to previous versions. The VPS can be assembled to the outside visor in less than one minute and independently raised when not in use. During our testing, the sunscreen has remained very stable in both high and low positions, even at speeds in excess of 200 km/h. The VPS has proved to maintain its original set position when subjected to a variety of riding styles, including head rotation at high speed. The shading and related anti-dazzle effect of the VPS provides an ideal riding environment by back or sunset light. The VPS should be periodically removed as required for cleaning operations.

Schuberth are just about the most flaming expensive helmet ever hahaha. Well, there are probably much more expensive helmets, but they're like $1500, innit? I wouldn't value my head at $1500, lol, and neither would most other people (value my head, that is)

I have the Nolan N102 with the extra tinted visor - vision protection system (VPS) which is mounted over top of the normal full size clear full visor. The helmet is similar to the N100 in fit but has the extra VPS and N-com ready set up. The VPS tinted visor is just flicked up or down easily with the fingers as you need it. It stays in the up or down position without any difficulty. The only thing that took me a little while to get used to when the tinted VPS visor was in the down postion was positioning my head so anything I looked at didn't have the bottom edge of the visor in the way as the light and dark line was a bit distracting. I only use it in bright sunny conditions and when its not needed I just flick the VPS visor up and it stays out of the way and I can keep my normal full visor down as they operate independently of each other.
