    Cool Nailed up me rear...

Ive been nailed... got a nail in my rear tyre yesterday...

Been riding around on it (m-way etc) but going on a big ride with some friends in the tomorrow morning

Will it pop suddenly?? or will it just go down slowly if it does anything at all??

Im just worried its going to suddenly burst on me mid corner or something!!

it advised to get it patched and fixed before your ride... it could work loose, or have a slow leak... (I doubt of a pop or anything) if it works loos it could be a sudden loose or pressure and could make the beed of the tyre to free..

But on saying that I had something similar a few years ago... and have no idea how many k's I did with it stuck in. I found it in Taupo and it got me to Napier...

could it be repaired? How much and how long will it take?

it's a good 4-5 hour ride, meeting friends at 9am...

Shouldn't cost too much maybe $30 bucks... and take only 30 to 45 to fix... most bike shops and or even garages can fix...

Sometimes people dont realise they've picked up a nail for ages. But seeing you've noticed yours then chances are something will happen (Murphy's Law).

Dont fiddle with it, but get it repaired asap. A mushroom plug should be adequate or worst case scenario Valcanised, getting it plugged should only take 30mins

I don't see any reason why they can't... I would give them a ring first thing in the morning... to see if they can do it first thing

Hi Dan, take it into CycleTreads (http://www.cycletreads.co.nz) in BarrysPoint Road. They should be able to repair it on the spot within 30 minutes for around $15, when I struck the same problem I took my wheel in and they had it done pretty quickly.

So long as the puncture is near the center of the tyre it should be fine, if it is near the sides then they may not be able to "legally" repair it (or some shit like that).

It looks like a rather big nail, but they should be able to repair it no problem. I had a chunk of metal about 1cm long stuck in mine and they managed to repair it, was quite impressed (and happy) as the tyre was brand new.

    um think so?

Its really nice tyre ay... was on it when i got it from red baron... are they good then?

I would not risk buying another kind since im used to this one, so would replace with same kind. Would hate to try another and not like it then be stuck with it!
