I just downloaded a copy of 98SE this morning, put it on CD at worked fine, do you have broadband and limewire or is it the key you are after?

Thanks for the offer Raster, but given my chosen trade I need to avoid "licensing issues".
I know these are freebies but I feel obliged to provide them with legal software, especially as these are going out to Noobs.
In this case by disabled brother, the next complete system to a 13 yo.
Not worth losing my job over a Hobby not for profit situation.
Are you coming to the http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...=39958&page=16
or it there another more suitable time and place - PM me if you are not going (Makes sense to me).
I have a License for win98 you can have which covers SE as well, as SE was an update not an upgrade.
It's the Certificate of Authenticity that is the important thing, not the CD.
One suggestion, put a copy of the win98 directory onto the HDD of the machine, otherwise after the person has lost the CD you wont be able to make any alterations to the system. Which is what I had yesterday.

$hite...I just chucked out about 12 machines with 95/98/ME COA's. I think I've got about 3 left though and normally get 2 or 3 a month in (basically most of my customers upgrade to a Dell or similar and then get me to transfer all their files and stuff across leaving me to dispose of their $hite old PC's).
OS sorted - More os' required for future projects, but right now just an old dvd rom. older the better.
On to another build, this one for a solo mum with a boy started high school this year, and the copy that was provided to install on the machine that vagrant so kindly donated appears to either be less than legit or installed on too many machines. Can anyone either donate a copy of xp that is no longer in service or a COA off an expired machine?
Well, I delivered the above machine to much applause....... until the monitor crapped out whenever it was logged in to.
It seems the monitor can only take 800 x 600 at a reasonable refresh rate and in full 32 bit colour. Will got to 1080x760 if the screen is left to flicker away at 60 and the colour is reduced to 16 bit.
In fact have had to take out a very nice graphics card that was donated so that the monitor would run at all. (at full res the monitor shakes and then powers itself down.
To cut a long story short:
Who has a surplus monitor that has at least 70hz at 1080x760 capability in 32 bit colour?
On a side note:
Does anyone have a surplus printer the same family could use to print his assigments?
