    Speed camera question

How do you know if you got caught speeding by a speed camera?
I was going down the motorway yesterday when i saw a red van parked along the side of the road & thought ohh a speed camera when i went past it i checked my speed uh oh I was over 100kms (not on purpose though). My question is did I get caught? there was a car between me & the van and how would it get my number plate anyway? I didn't see a flash or anthing. I won't say how fast i was going only that it was an accident that I was. Damn bike picks up speed so easily it's hard to stick to the speed limits

wait for the ticket in the mail. If it doesn't arrive then you didnt get caught. You could go down to the local and tell your friendly policeman where you were and what speed you were doing and ask if you are going to get a ticket for it.

If the van was facing you, then you have no front number plate = no ticket.
If here are two vehicles in the picture = no ticket.
If you were doing under 100kmh = no ticket.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

Yeah I went past the same one yesterday in the cage, well into photo territory. There was a big braking effort involved, but I'm not sure if I was quick enough on the picks. Good thing nobody was tailgating me!

The bastard wasn't in his usual haunts (which I had slowed down for, DOH!).

Nobody's fault but mine I guess.

the back of the van was facing me which is where the camera usually is. Do camera vans have a camera facing out the front aswell to record motor bike number plates?

no camera in front, it would be up to the operator in van to suddenly pick up pen and paper, and tag your rego... very unlikely for that to ever happen.

As others have said...wait for any letters in the mail... guaranteed way of knowing

You'll be ok then mate if the rear was facing you
I also meant to say under 110kmh you would be very unlikely to get a ticket as well.

I came across a strange one the other day - As I was coming through the Drury interchange heading into Auckland my detector started going off, looking around I didn't see any cops or vans parked on the side of the road. However over in the carpark of the sportsfield was a Police station wagon with the rear hatch open,I couldn't see what was inside as there was some sort of cover. My detector went crazy as I crossed where it was parked,so something was inside. But it was 100 metres away at right angles to the passing traffic,no way to identify vehicles.Conspiracy theories apply here.....

If there are multiple vehicles in the beam, as there would be if you were passing you should not get a ticket. Dispute it if you do.
