All fairings need a trimming, especially for my oggy knob to fit in.

The ones i've seen have a metal bracket that reach behind teh fairing and secure to the frame, i'd struggle to trust something that attached to the fairing bracket

I spoke with the guys at Colemans a while back. Some bikes can get oggy knob frames that allow the knobs to be fitted without the need to cut the farinings at all. may pay to see if this can be done for your bike. They are obviously more expensive for the extra metal though.

Boomer, give him a yell. If he hasn't done what you want before, he'll design it and fab it up for you from scratch at a fraction of the price you were quoted.
NO!!....this guy is using Acetal for his sliders. A far from ideal material that is likely to shatter or chip.
If you are going to bother either buying or manufacturing frame sliders use what the pro's use [i.e oggy et al ] specially modified Nylon 66 [Nylotrol]. Trust SPB the Toolmaker, this stuff is the ducks guts. Skateboard wheels are a grade of polyurethane; another less than ideal material.
Need help purchasing Nylotrol I can help [giz a yell]. I could manufacture some sliders and make a stellar job but I'm to f$%#in' busy.

This knobb was attached through a hole drilled into the fairing. You can't see the hole behind the knobb, so it doesn't matter. The knobbs took all the damage at my off at Taupo last KB track day. The damage you can see on the fairing was done by the horn coming off.

Just drill the damn thing, it looks good if you get it right. Just get the correct size hole saw drill attachment and aim well as you only get one chance at it

One other important point in regards to Delrin/Acetal sliders.
Should it through whatever means catch alight [easy to acheive!] this material gives off large quantities of Formaldehyde gas a pungent and highly dangerous poison.
Not good. SPB sez do not use.

Hmmm, so I shouldn't put a lighter up to it and test it then?

That is an acceptable test to check. The material will light with little effort and will take 15-30 seconds before you can be sure of its pungency. If it just smells hot or mildly unpleasant it is not Delrin/Acetal. Use water to ensure the shed/bike/kitchen does not burn down.
