    Missing horses? Honda X11

    Hoping someone can help:

    Honda CB1100SF X11 Naked Blackbird >136RWHP 116nm @7000 top speed >156MPH

Yet my ownership papers state 77KW!!! (106HP)

How can this be? Where are my missing KW's? Are they missing?

A bit of investigation revealed the presence of a Domestic Japanese model that was toned down to comply with legislation. Full output models were manaufactured only for export. The Jap model does not have HISS, Indicated 180kph max on the clocks, No Cats and a few other cosmetic diffrences. I think the only other country that has a HP limit is France.

My bike has 280kph on the clocks, HISS, Cats and none of the cosmetic bits that would identify it as a Jap Domestic Model. It was purchased new in Auckland in 2003. The dealer has been of no use whatsoever. Most notably the Jap model will not lift the front wheel under power alone, mine seems to have little difficulty above 6000rpm where a significant power bulge lives (I have only lifted the front in gears 1-3) It certainly is way quicker than my CBR1000F that was around 125HP

Can anyone out there comment on why the ownership papers may be different to the bike's apparent output?

I have only used seat of the pants as a measure, whats a dyno run cost? or better still anyone got access to one for a sneaky run?

There's all you need to know right there... a non tuning dyno run is about $45 if you're wanting a definitive
