My first thought would be that he's going to charge too much - and choose someone else.
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details

I think it'll destroy his business, since I would view this has being a person who charges too much.

Then again, this also goes to prove I'm in the wrong business if he can afford a cash purchase of this machine after all other costs within 6 months of business.

Hmm, wonder if I can change careers and how long it'll take before I'm a registered dude ... being a plumber doesn't look like hard work, especially around 10am, 12pm and 3pm.
90% of the time spent writing this post was spent thinking of something witty to say. It may have been wasted.

    Dude, read the article.

He was a property developer here and in the UK. He could undoubtedly have afforded to retire comfortably, but prefers to occupy himself with a trade.

Good on him, and I like his sense of humour.

I'm reminded of the London stockbroker in the news a few years back who had a 2-week break between jobs and spent it working on a rubbish truck because he didn't like sitting around doing nothing.
