    Paekakariki Hill road

Just went for a blat over the Paekakariki hill, and i have to say it's one of the most fun and close roads to have a thrash on.
I find the 250 way more fun on this road than the 600.
I can flick over the 250 with a whole lot more ease than lugging the heavy 600 around the road.
then there is the added excitement of cages on the wrong side of the road cos they can't drive/take corners.
what an awesome way to start the day!!

there was a pig on the road today, i was surprised i assumed they would only go around the bottom, what are they gonna catch going up the hill?

Since they lowered the speed limit to 80 (or is it 70?), you often find cops patrolling this road. Probably the boasts of some on this site that they can do the road at about 180 didn't help.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

I commute this road twice a day - I obviously pleased the gods once.

There are 157 corners between Grays Rd in the south and the stop sign on SH1 at Paekakariki, a journey of 11.1km's. That's
    - 14.1 corners per km, or
    - a corner every 70.7 meters

My definition of a "corner" for counting purposes (from remaining on the correct side of the carriageway)
    - Requires a movement from or through the vertical
    - cannot be taken by straight-lining it
    - A two-radius corner where you don't come vertical at some point in it is one corner, not two
    - A two-radius corner where you *do* come vertical at some point in it is two corners, not one

Who cares ... it's just a barrell of fun and does gangbusters for your riding. I am past trying to do it at light-speed and now work on holding a constant speed (80kmh) for the whole road. That's not quite possible as rthere's one 25 and one 35kmh corner but man it focusses the mind and hones your techo skills.

Other KBers I know of who do the same thing are RG100! and Sparky Bills from Motomart who do it north-south. There are others I'm sure, lets hope we don't "meet".

yes it'd be awesome to take it 80kms through those tight little turns but i think i'd end up in the bushes/off the edge!
one time my bike broke down and i counted 10 different bikes that went past, no one stopped either

OK CFWB reckons the new 800 MotoGP Suzuki is just the gears but while we are talking about Hondas being slow let me see Mr Poos, how many Grand Prix championships have Suzuki won since KRJR won in 2000? Oh yeah it wasn't many was it, and Honda won how many? Really that many, that's a lot in comparison eh! Divide Honda number by Suzuki number and the answer is infinity being that they have been infinitely better. Is there much else to say?
    Cheers

    Yeah. They suck

Jokes. All the Honda's I've had have been great bikes. I wouldn't mind getting a VFR400 sometime this year
