Classic and classy GB 400TT For Sale

I am soon going to sell my trusty mount, advertising it in all applicable places, but I thought I would post here first for expressions of interest.

Kiwi Bikers can then get first dibs on purchasing my fabulous GB.

    Things you need to know:

I have just finished giving it a service so it is all tip top in the oil and filters department, new tyres and new brake shoes.

The cam chain has seized on the bike and it has got a bit of wear on the drive chain. The cost to fix these two problems will cost an estimated $450 - $500. Neither of these complaints affects the performance of the machine itself, I have just finished a tour up and down the North Island and experienced absolutely no problems.

I believe this kind of cycle would suit an enthusiast or perhaps some one with mechanical knowledge who can fix it with the minimum of cost. It would also make a great second bike.

As a result of the repairs needed I am prepared to sell the bike for a rather cheap $1600 to KB members and/or associates. I have a double seat that I will throw into the bargain also.

Take a look at my picture and you'll get a sense of the bike. When I do go all out to sell it I will provide updated photos, but as I say other than the two mechanical things the bike is in excellent condition, looks awesome, rides like a dream (especially through the bendy bits ) and I'll miss it when it is gone .

Please PM me if you are interested, or if you'd like to come round and take a look. Feel free to ask any questions.

    Sorry to those awaiting photos.

I will be adding my bike to Trade Me next week and will obviously provide photos with that.

I plan however to post photos here first to give KB members first dibs.

This will most likely take place on Thursday/Friday, with the bike being placed on Trade Me on Monday.

Thanks for your patience. Keep your eyes peeled.

    Here's a couple of photos...

Girl is not included (get your own bed warmer! )

FAQ Summary: GB 400TT 1986, excellent condition, runs like a dream, had service before Christmas. Needs new cam chain (cost approx $400 according to Hamilton's Boyd Honda). Comes with a basic manual and a dual seat. Selling to KB members/associates for $1600.

If you are interested please PM me by Monday as I will be putting the cycle on Trade Me then and will not be taking anything less than $1800 for it on there.

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

At ~170kg and 34hp, you won't be breaking any land-speed records but that's not the idea of this bike.

Looks v. nice, Japhy, would be very interested if I was coming up to my full licence! Good luck with sale.

    Hi there R6.

As mentioned the GB 400 isn't a speedy cycle, more made for the curves

But you can cruise along happily at 120km and it loves the odd straight at 140.
