Roofing iron stuff needed

Ok folks Im officially bob the builder. My lads have conned me into building "fort frosty" in the bush back of my place
Ive got walls and floors done -Im just short something to use for a roof.
anyone in auckland with some old metal or even corrogated plastic sheeting ya dont want Id be keen to pick it up

Aww what a shame you live so far away. At the back of were I live, a timber company have leased a gully and they are filling it with there off cuts etc. Its amazing what they chuck out. Anything timber that you can buy at any hardware store is in there, and usually its only slight imperfections. I was thinking plywood for roof.

I have some old corrogated (metal) sheets in my back yard....

What length do you need?

Let me know and I will measure them up..... as they maybe too short for what you are wanting to do.

If they are the right length ........... how many do you need?

EDIT: Been out and measured the lengths. They are 5 foot in length and have quite a few of them.

Well when my bike shed blew down in the last storm we had I kept quarter of the roof...I dont really know why either!!

let me know the measurements and I'll see if its the right size.

It was a big shed and made a big mess....but the bike stood strong.

Hi pixc - I too live in Te Puke and need some bits of wood for a project (small tree house thingy) I'm doing for my son - where's this gully? in what road? - I'd love to 'salvage' some timber. - Cheers

the fort is roughly 2.4 x 2.0m but keep in mind--tis a fort or a hutt--so improvising is the key

I built a treehouse for my kids about the same size and managed to scavenge some old roofing iron about 10ft long. Bent it in the middle and nailed the suckers down. Spot on.

5 ft stuff would do so long as you got a piece of flashing for the ridge or bent a sheet along the top. Er.......there is a ridge I suppose?

Im not just all fingernail polish and makeup ya know!!! There's boots and mini skirts in there too!!
