Unless of course you're a bling hound, and I'm not exactly innocent in that regard.
Totally agree jim.....i just remember reading the article and thinking itd be alot of fun..........to many dollars for me........mind you theres an old TLS in the garage that i would hate to count the $ spent on.........

I've found that since fitting the Scorpion Pipe I seem to have a bit of fuel starvation effect at peak revs. Not bad enough to really worry me. so I guess bigger jets would help. (may just be in my mind though).
Attached a bunch of SV650-related stuff that I had on my computer, including that Performance Bikes article (1st page not really legible though..)

Thanks Slob and Thanks 98TLS (thanks to all) - all helps - I'm enjoying all the pics and articles - Man if only I did have enough cash - I'd buy a 1000sv and keep the 650 just to do up etc. Ya know what it's like - you fall in love with them.

Have a look on www.sv650.org - plenty of technical info on there. I would stick to the front/rear sprokets and new fork springs/heavier oil - or just replace it with a GSX front end seems to work. Replace the rear shock with the best you can afford and this will get you around corners a lot quicker. If you are re-jetting maybe add an aftermarket filter - works best with full exhaust system... If its straight line speed you are looking for - just get a bigger bike - but the beauty with the 650 is you can ring its neck and keep yourself within reaching distance when you get into trouble. With the right suspension/tyre/drive setup it will add a world of difference. I used to have a curvy yellow one too

What have you other SV650 owners done -
I'm not racing or anything - just want a few more horses possibly - plus a bit more zip. - My top ends fine and I don't mind losing a bit in this area.
    Have you tried contacting 'YKK'..?

Gee 98tls - now thats what I call a bike, man I'm totally green with envy, did you do it all yourself or what?
I've always thought the SV650 is a good bike to customise - you've proved it's true. post some more pics as you do more - Awesome. - what do you estimate you have raised the HP to, not that it matters - not in the least.

I'm not sure that's his... I think that took out the NYC motorcycle show recently, over hugely modified Busas, ZX10Rs etc.

Went for a ride on an SV650 yesterday and found it felt very narrow, brakes not that flash and seat quite uncomfortable. But after about half an hour or so, I really started to LOVE that engine. My own bike is a pretty basic affair but almost felt plush compared with the SV. Like I already said, loved the donk though.
