Ok.. make a list, pm me the details. We dont want some third rate smelly cruddy toilets though, and they have to have loo paper, cant stand it when they have run out.. also toilet seat liners would be a treat too. Cheers for the help Trudes.. this ride is going to be friggin awesome!!

Methinks this thread is veering decidedly off-course now.

As long as none of the riders don't veer off, we're cool. I had a thought for a variation if the weather is crappy on the rapa side. There's an interesting half hour ride from Te Marua through Mangaroa and Whotemans Valleys and back onto the motorway at silverstream if we need to wait for the weather to clear before we go up 'n' over to the rapa. Those rapa crew (3?) who were going to wait at the top could come down and join us for a little explore.

I don't know if many of the welly riders have done the trip but it's an interesting cruise and a nice diversion

Thats a great wee ride, especially when the twisties are approached from the Silverstream end (uphill). I wonder if it is suitable for large groups though? It's also quite a short ride.

Everyone is meeting at Rimutex at 10am. Weather in the rapa looks cloudy with late rain for Tuesday at the moment.

Ok.. so no one gets confused, esp. myself (seeing as this is the first big ride I have ever been on) here is what is happening so far:

Everyone meet at Rimutex at 10am. If the weather is ok in the rapa (which it SHOULD be) we leave approx 10.15am. Such a big group, we should split up into smaller groups. Can someone help with this, and we will need tail-end charlies as well I am assuming.

Ride over the Takas… maybe stop at the top if you want to, then around Lake Ferry, stop for a drink at the Lake Ferry pub… if you wish to have lunch there we can, otherwise onto Martinborough… flying fish or anywhere else if it gets too full.

Then if you guys still want to ride there is always the Gladstone pub for another refreshment.

In case Wairarapa weather is crappy, I will have to rely on someone arranging where we go, as I haven’t got a clue.

    Cheers…. Looking forward to it!

    See you guys at Rimutex.

I dont mind helping with the tail end charlie/ sweeper thing

Manawatu guys - are you coming Via Kapiti? and if so what time?

If the weather is too crappy in the 'Rapa we could do the Paekak Hill to the sunny Kapiti coast (the waterfront pub at Raumati is good) or around the Pauatahanui Inlet to the Sandbar at Mana. Or, if you're really game, there is always the Akatarawa Rd from Upper Hutt to Waikanae.
Experience......something you get just after you needed it

So why are you A-OK ? Is Home Makeover on TV tonight. Or is it you have thermals and wet weather for the KB brass monkey/Cold Kiwi type rides.
