Probably can't attend this now thanks to my bin today. Pity, I was really looking forward to it and it is a great cause![]()

You can't go wrong. Down the northwestern, hang left onto the southern, keep going, and a bit more, and a more miles extra, until y pass the Takanini straight, then a bit further to where where the speedo test strip used to be, then keep on steady a bit more until you see the sign saying Karaka. If you get to the bit where the motorway used to end (where the Drury garage used to be - well you won't actually get THERE cos the built the road up and moved it round, but you know what I mean), you've gone too far, turn round and go back.

Nono , left AFTER the "down the northwestern". Not HARD left or you'll end up on the North Shore (I think, they messed about with things there, anyway hard left goes somewhere you don't want to be) , and not straight on or you'll end up down at the port.
This assumes that you are in the right hand lane of course. If not, for left read right.
You don't actually GO left as such, just hang a left across, and a wiggle and a twirl up the hill. Then just follow your nose southward. A blind man could find it, just follow the instructions and you can't possibly go wrong.

Get into the lane that is for HAMILTON........
That lane gets you onto the southern motorway......
Keep going down the southern motorway until you see the sign that says KARAKA.
Take the KARAKA off-ramp....... at this point you have to go back over the motorway bridge....... to get to the KARAKA Bloodstock/horse carpark........
Thats where you will find heaps of bikes.
Park up your bike...... leave helmet with the bike.... (it will be safe)
and have a wander around to look at other bikes and to chat with others.
Take note where your bike is parked so when the time comes you can find your bike again.
At the 2007 Westpac Ride:
Donor: So ya glad you're a Biker?
Minnie: F**k yeah!
Anyone from Papatoetoe going on this ride , wouldn`t mind hooking up with some folks (I`m afraid to ride by myself , there are bad people out there).Let me know. Cheers Hey Disco D , I take it you didn`t get the GPS did you?
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure...
Left side. Right foot first. Only Yank cops dismount to the right. To tell which is left , start your bike, sit on it. Grasp the handlebars. Twist first one hand , then the other. The hand which makes the engine go faster when you twist it is the right hand. The other hand is your left hand. Unless you are riding an Indian. Or have only one hand. You can't go wrong.
