    1980 gsx250. What's it worth?

Hey i have a 1980 gsx250e in red cant remember the excact k's but its under 10k has had front caliper re-furb with new pads also has new speedo cable replaced sparkies new battery and a few other parts.

Bike is dormant purchased just after christmas with intention of putting it back on the road but have since decided to repair the rm and get that road legal again. Now im just wanting a rough idea of what its worth as is the bike is in great condition for age and also has the 2 to 1 exhaust so sounds nice and aggressive.

Also have a bucket load of spares including spare 1983 frame, tank, front and rear shocks, wheels, brake parts, 2 into 1 exhaust etc which will go with bike if i can get a good price or i will just sell of separate.

So yeah if anyone has any idea on its worth its all ready for its mr2a cof at a cost of around $350 which includes new plates and 6 months reg and wof.

Total stab in the dark, $3000, IF you get it on the road, otherwise I might give you $500.

    That's not an offer though

i have seen them on trademe for around the $800 to $1300 mark. my buddy's got one and it's a nice commuter. cheap on gas and pretty decent handling (for a suzuki!).

quite a high spec engine for its time TSCC (4 valves per cylinder).

Cheer's people so it looks like it may be worh getting it on the road, in the end it will owe me $800 so if i could get 1300-1500 i will be more than happy.

you'll get around $1000 for it, if you get it road legal, simply because it's a 250, if it was any other size it would be near on worthless in it's present condition

Mind if I piggy back on your thread jdm?

My '89 GSXR 250 (30,000 k's) is about to be written off by the insurance company, was insured for $2,400 but they are expressing doubt that it was worth that much. I think it was as it was all original, immaculate original paint job, just had a new screen as the original one was a bit cloudy. And of course it was a Japanese 4 cylinder watercooled twin front disk model unlike the newer GSX 250's. Any one care to offer their opinion?
