Nah, I'd rather have something that goes round corners, and doesn't feel as though it's being steered from the top of a ladder.

You say that as if there is something wrong with it.....

    all part of the charm

Of course, a lammy will only go round corners when it is running..

ETs are just mopeds though, aren't they?
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

Would that be because Lambretta owners tend to know what they're doing?

LX150 as in 150cc. You can get kits for them. They handel a lot better than the gt200 or runner IMHO. If your going to tour the the gt200 but if your going places only and hour or so away then the Lx150 is more than sutiable.

ETs and LXs come in 50cc 2T and 125(UK) / 150cc (everywhere else) 4T versions. As Texmo says, you can get kits for them (I have a 187cc Malossi cylinder on my aforemention ET).

Go and see Goetz at Scooter E Motion in Eden Terrace, he's the man for Piaggio / Gilera stuff in Auckland.

Personally I think the runner is a significantly better loooking bike.
And if you were going for the GT200 you should just go for the GTS250 anyway because its a freakin awesome scooter! 100km/h is a sinch, it will cruise all day, and probably with two people.

Admittedly I havent ridden a GT200 so I may be just blabbing but I was certainly impressed by the GTS250
Thats the smell of desire my lady..

The issue with the GTS is whether it really is that much better than the GT. Personally I'd be put off by the fact that the electronic ignition needs a laptop to service....

The runner that I have got is a 2T one and does 100kmh easy with 2up
And yes before it was breathed on with extra biits.

I rode a Gt200 once it was extremly breathed on and it handled completly different to the runner

Go the Runner, especially the new one.

Im in the opinion that the 'new retro' type scoots are just horrid and wrong.

    Runner for me

Called in to Motomail today and drooled over the Runner. Certainly gets my vote on looks (at this stage), but would like to have a test ride on one! Vespas, whilst likely to be technically advanced, are not really my thing as I'm not into the "traditional" scooter look.

And as for the Gilera Nexus - thats a whole new category again

The runner and vespa share the same engine pretty much, as well as a few other parts as they are both made by Piaggio.

    I hope this helps.
