Its unlikely that I would have stopped but in any event first sign of a knife then I would have been out of there pronto, 14 years or not. 2 reasons:

1. 5 years of Kyokushinkai and the favourite Noob demo was to get a black belt to defend himself from a noob with a vivd marker (the knife) granted the noob would get flatend in 5 seconds but never without inflicting a "serious" injury. Real world, would the noob have been monstered if it was a knife? Point made.

2. I had the misfortune of sitting on a jury where the victim was stabbed 14 times by a man that was considerabley smaller. Of the 14 wounds 2 were considered the fatal blows. 100mm deep, thats a small knife.

Knives are a lottery at best, pricks of things. I would contact the cops and lay a complaint on the basis the guy was carrying one in the first place.

The odds of a teenager who's wearing "50cent G-unit" gear, and carrying a concelaed knife being maori or PI are far greater than the odds of them being european, asian, or any other ethnicity.

Hell I just did a spot quiz around the office, and 3 out of 3 of the other staff here (1 crusty liberal old white guy (Wolf), and 2 20ish maori guys) agreed that they would ALSO assume the people involved were maori or PI.

You're probably right, I agree. Based on the evidence at hand, they probably are Maori or Pacific Islanders... likely wannabe gangsters on their way up through the ranks. The fact you deduced that likelihood isn't so impressive.

That you felt is necessary to point it out however - why? Why is that so essential to the conversation at had? Does it make you feel more superior, or do you have a point to prove?
