Yet another Massive day at Paeroa and thanks to the FROSTY pit, namely MadDuck for looking after our gear while we soaked up the action and sunrays, although, for such a large donation i would have thought the least ya could have done was clean my visor for me.....(Joking)
Well done for (and attitude) on the earlier flag incident FROSTY...

    Hey Frosty,

You looked awesome out there T (apart from your coloured bike. ) Have a few photos and videos of you among the 338 pics taken, will drop a CD off at your work or home sometime before I leave this place.

    Heya G,

As Frosty has clarified, it was a genuine mistake.

As soon as he realised what happened he came and spoke to me at Point 2 (had my "race official" gear on) and we radioed the control room telling them what happened - the look on his face was genuine "damn, how did that happen?!?!? What have I done now!!!"

If it wasn't a genuine issue - he would have been sent packing and the flag position wouldn't have been changed.

PM me with your email address if you want the larger version of your "Say Cheese" moment. - The attached pic is 20% the size of the original.

    Kind regards,
    JSG

    A fantastic day at Paeroa

Well folks I gotta say what a bonzer day.
The day was hot and clear--tar melting clear as it turned out
I had a plan for the day --cruise first practice to do some setup on the suspension , wind it up in second practice then hopefully get the race face on for my 2 races
Other than a (very embarressing) incident mentioned elsewhere all went totally to plan in practice.
race one and I had my "race face" on -ready to do battle
My aim was a top 10 finish
I was gridded on the fourth row right behind pole.
I got a fantastic launch for my first 3.0m only to have to stop --a guy on the front row did a huge (accidental) burnout /semi donut instead of launching causing a massive pack of us to have to stop.
Half the feild had gone into turn 1 before I got propperly under way. Head down it took me a lap to catch goblin's lil green kawasaki -got under her and held her out up over the hill .From there on it was passing slower riders till I got up deanos bum on the back straight -I drafted him and made ready to pounce up the right just before the kink in the back straight
Not to be as deano drifted right and the hay bales got a wee bit too close--ok read that as I had hay in my knee scraper as my knee bounced off them a few times .
I had another couple of tries at deano untill I got him and got clear for a chasie session on the guys in front. They had too much of a gap for me to make up so catching them was Not to be but a heck of a good race. I finished 12th with a 54 second best lap (keeping in mind the top two guys were doing 49s
Race 2 I dunno what happened to me--I knew where I needed to do work to go faster and I genuinely felt faster--But NO I was 2 full seconds a lap slower
It took me forever to get past Goblin then it was another chasie session
to see if I could recover a few places. I was chasing down a guy on a yellow zxrr400 (alen zutnic)and got past him --but too late as it turned out -on the results he beat me by .155of a second -I ended up doing 56's and finished 17t th
Ya know what--I had a total blast and loved every minute
as always thanks to Madduck for being my ever suffering pit crew --Thanks to Motobob and SVS for both lending me tyre warmers for the day.
Thanks to all the KBers who came up and wished me luck during the day -You lot have no idea how much it means to get encouragement from you all

end of the day it was a good days racing.
I have full respect for the people who put a heck of a lot of their time and effort into organising these events.
Keep in mind they have only untill 6.00pm to have the main road open again and have to make pretty serious decisions about peoples safety all day long.

The red flag incident where matey got took out from behind was a corker.. that and that blokes bike exploding and sending his engine into 1000's of pieces all over the track and path

Tristan showed me a new way home tonight, one full tank of petrol as we left only to do a full loop over the hill and find ourselves back at the same petrol station one tank lighter.. we set off at 5 and i got home at 9

Well done to all of you - It was good meeting you Frosty - albeit it ever so quickly -
What a great day, I think I've caught the bug to race now as well - It was awesome - Gee that right hander after the only lefty was great to see how the knees only just missed the curb by millimeters - scary stuff.
Man those SV650's are quick - (thats why I own one)
I enjoyed watchin the guy riding with one hand in the Formula 3 - wow what courage.

    Good on all of ya.
