in the time taken to write in here, you could have rung wilksbrooke and sorted it out. took me 30 secs to find the service managers name and cell #. or you could have checked the bill before paying it.

however he was out for a ride, and stuck on the side of the road.
perhaps he (petermonkeyguru) could ring the original repairer, and ask him to pick the fucked bike up from huntly, and do a proper job, and while he's at it discount the work he charged for chain tensioning where required.
For fuck sake .. how more obvious can it be that the original repairer completely slacked off ...
I've got no problems whatsoever in sharing my opinion with a company ... whether it be good or bad.
Name and shame away I reckon
Yea right - I chose to forget about the money I paid and left it at the other shop for 3 reasons; Firstly - It wasn't just a simple mistake that could happen to anyone, there were three different things they stuffed up on, whats the chances they get it right next time? why should I piss around getting the bike back to them and waiting for them to try and fix it, and their dishonesty shits me.
Secondly - It may have cost me $300 odd, I know from experience I won't see that back, but it'll cost them more than that in potentail customers.
Thirdly - I don't have much time in life to get out on my bike, I don't need to be dicked around, so why bother, just want my bike on the road again.
Whats the matter with people anyway! lost your balls 'inlinefour'? It's about service, I have no obligation to the retailers, they have an obligation to their customers.
The chain-tensioning thing might not be as bad as you think -- just a simple case of forgetfulness. I'd imagine in many garages that part of the policy, is on every tune-up/repair thing that they always tension and lube the chain, so it's just a given that it goes on the tab unless otherwise specified. Maybe they just forgot your bike was a shaftie, or forgot to tell the man-with-the-pen, and it just got added on without another thought.
You're lucky mate I had a new clutch put into my old GSXR 1100 and on a trip back to wellywood the clutch disentergrated and fucked the gearbox etc!!
And this was from a reputable suzuki dealer I rang them and they had to drive for two and a half hours to pick the bike up and repair it!!!
I didnt pay a cent and refused to pay the original bill as well, apparently the mechanic put a component in around the wrong way!!!!
NEVER LET THE TRUTH GET IN THE WAY OF A GOOD STORY!
DIY, then you only have yourself and the cat to blame. :P
Save the world, Kill someone
By the time I was home writing this up - I had the bike in the shop getting fixed ya big dick.
And for your information I've had a few emails from people who read this thread, with some good advise, invites and help, even a dealer offering me a deal on a bike until mines fixed.
I talked to two bike shops today who have actually read this - they were fine with what I wrote.
for those who are interested, the bike shop rang and think the valves are burnt in one cylinder! getting back to me with a price.
Said it was either set up too lean or the adjustment was out.
Does that reflect on the first shop? was it a result of the first service being stuffed up? or should they of picked it up?![]()
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
It's a bloody website mate - doesn't put any dollars in the bike shops pockets. But you were just being sarcastic right
These shops have been dealing with individual bikers before KB and will do so in their own fashion regardless of whether someone's part of this place or not.
I find making friends and getting to know the shops you deal with gets you far better service than anything else. They're people too you know - trying to buy some bread for their kids......

Those of you asking Peter to shut up - please don't - I'd rather hear the good and bad stories and make my mind up that way.
Ignorance about such matters isn't bliss.
I think everybody here has had bad service at one point or another, Your opinion is just that your opinion based on the level of service you received, would have been nice to hear what the bike shop was going to do to rectify your problem to maybe restore YOUR faith in them.
Hope you take on some of the more positive feedback from this… and have learned a lesson or two. (I know I have)![]()
Can't wait to read your glowing post of when you get your bike fixed, seems only fair to put the same effort into a job done well.![]()
