Any one know anything about kayaks??

On first glance you may think this has nothing to do about bikes.... but it does!! (honest ) Whatever money I get from the kayak will help me to get my leathers

Does any one know what make, year, sale price or any other info on this sort of kayak?? It's about 13 Ft long and I know it is atleast 6 years old (that's roughly how long I've had it for) but I've only used it a few times.

Might be a bit steep. I bought 2 very similar kayaks on trademe a year or so ago for ~$120.

Looks like an older white water / salom boat (lots of rocker no keel) and a fair bitch to paddle in a straight line. The design is older than 6 years methinks. Perhaps you could have a look on trademe and see what similar items go for? Should have sold it before xmas - better prices then!

It's an old slalom kayak...thats about as close as you need to know. That style is well dated and is really only a kids mucking about boat now worth as much as you can get. $50 no reserve may work.

Aren't you near Taupo? If so, go to Canoe & Kayak (behind the supermarket by the motorcamp?) and get their advice.

    Good luck!

To put it in context, you can get a new white water kayak for $1500 and the rate of design advance is introducing new boats at least once a season. Unfortunately this means old boats have little value.

What type of leathers are you after? talk to Quasi he'll probably help you out. I got my leathers before I joined kb, if i had waited I could have saved myself a fair amount of money.

Stick it on Trademe - I did that with my kayak with a reserve of $250 thinking I wouldn't get much more than that. Sold for $600.

You could also try one of the white water slalom clubs to sell it if you can't shift it on trademe.
