I don't care either way. Concidering I'm a girlie or nana rider and have been called a cunt at times I take it I can participate on these runs.

The pressure is not from other riders, it comes from within!
I would love to be able to corner like the guys I ride with, I would love to be able to ride at 160 on the straights - fact is, neither me nor my bike is capable of it! So I am always the last one to our meeting places.
The only one who pressures me to go faster is me, but that isn't to say it isn't pressure, nonetheless.
Having said that, i don't ride beyond my abilites, just to try and keep up, but it would be nice to be second to last, just once!

Fuck me!!! I've just gone back to the first post, (to see if I could pick more holes in it of course, why else?) And see that it was started at Quarter to six this morning!!! Who the hell cares about this shit at the best of times, let alone that early!! I didn't even know there was an 0547 in the morning!

How come you think you can't?? Unless you plan to give up biking forever in the next month.

    I think you can

    - People should first get comfortable cornering and riding at 50kmph - then 60 - then 70 - then get a bigger bike as and when needed - then 80 - then 90..... time goes by, more practice...

Until you end up doing 270+ indicated on the speedo on one of the Coro Loop rides or race tracks....

Look at Keystone19 - she could barely ride just a few months ago - is racing in the nationals at the moment.

First of all, never ever feel pressured to keep up, ride your own ride, and ride to your own abilities, if you feel bit to anxious to continue pull over and your TEC will (should) pull up with you, maybe give a few pointers, and help you to relax.

If you are in a group you should have an experienced rider as Tail End Charlie, (we recently had a mishap on one of our rides when we thought our TEC was an experienced rider when she wasn't, and she was the one who had the mishap)

In theory you should always be second last

Agree with your sentiment Spank, but reckon the poll has been well worth while, if only to show the Naysayers that they're a minority.

Attempts by the girls to organise their own ride always seem to follow the same path.

    • The site wankers will gather around to furiously masturbate over the thread. "Ooh, can I come too? I'll ride behind to check out your bums........etc, etc."

    • The Naysayers will join in, to complain about the "sexist" nature of the ride.

    • A few more blokes join in, to say "let 'em have their ride".

    • The Naysayers start the abusive posts, PM's, and Rep in response.

    • The girls back off to leave them all to it.

    • Thread goes to PD, infractions and Sin-binning follow.

The issue of women-only rides just confirms that there are some total arseholes on the site. The poll however, confirms that they're a minority.

I can't believe there is any debate about this! WHY THE HELL NOT???
Let the women organise any ride they want, they are no different to the rest of us. (apart from the obvious)
I'm quite sure that if a guy happened to turn up at one of these rides they would be welcomed anyway, not chastised and made to bugger off on their own.
Go for it ladies. The more women on bikes the better I say, and if doing girl only rides encourages that then I'm all for it.

Why this poll? to satisfy my curiosity.

Mrs KD's last attempt to organise a girls ride was met with similar reactions to the 'Girls ride to the Quasi show' ride. It is pretty demoralising to arrange a ride with best intentions only to have people say you can't do that.
But she persevered and I got to see how great a girls ride is for the girls. And it has been said many times in this thread why that would be.

So when Lissa's girls ride started copping the old same old bullshit "you cant have a ride without inviting everyone" posts, I wanted to know what the thoughts of the wider KB community were.

    I have my answer.

Nah, I never got the pleasure - but at least you stay on your bike......
Do you wanna come ride with me, we could invite Ixion and have a "nana riders" convention.

I first thought it was Mrs. Kendog - but she's got her own login - so I wonder why a bloke wants to know if the girls can use dildos... uhmm I mean - organise their own rides.
