cowboyz invades Hawkes Bay... But made it out alive.

Sunday morning I had to go into work. So up bright and early and went and did what needed doing. Finished about 8.45am and remembered bonez was off on an adventure at 9 so I thought I would call by to see him off. Note the 9am SHARP tee off for bonez ride as he ambles up in a bonex fashion at 9.02. Quick chat and rode out to ashhurst and left Bonex and GarryH to be on their way. Stuffed round all day doing not much at all and decided I better get up to the bay.

Had a really good run up to hastings. Quite a bit of traffic around but went round most of it without trouble. Bike run like a kwaka and I was surposed to turn off at pukipuk but was in the groove and at 101km/hr (or there abouts) I missed the turnoff so ended up going into the middle of hastings.

Sense of direction can sometimes be lacking (no comment required from ashhurst boys) it took another hour to find Napier and MSTRS and YUNGATARTs place. Got there eventually.

Good chat and very welcoming people. Thanks heaps for putting up with me. Had a couple of beers and some food. MSTRS was in Paeroa so waited for him to get back. Bike sounds good coming up the road. Bit of a chat and headed for bed.

I had to get away early in the morning so 5am I was up for a cuppa and then tried following MSTRS map to bridge pa. he assures me the map was accurate and on a double check it is but never underestimate my lack of direction. there was about 5 turns and I still managed to stuff it up. Got to bridge pa and had a rough day working so stayed in a motel in hastings monday night.

This morning I finished the job and wandered back over to Napier for a cuppa and say thanks and goodbye.

MSTRS thought it be best to escort me out of town so we suited up and headed out to get some gas. 3 mins up the road and a blind soccer mum cuts in front of MSTRS. Shaking of heads and fists and we carry on to the gas station.

Then following MSTRS out 50 it was my turn for an altercation with a dumbarse. Went round a car and he tried to sidewipe me. Maybe he didn't like the green? That made 2 in 5 minutes. Dangerous place Hawkes Bay.

Got over it and MSTRS left me at highway 2 and i had a quiet run down the main highway. Pleased to see home.

Many thanks to MSTRS and YUNGATART and HXC. Will see you next weekend on the ride for life.
