Mstrs, Yungatart and hXc adopt a son/brother!

Well, we must be slightly mad
As if the 6 kids/6 grandkids we already have are not enough, next Saturday we welcome a new son and brother to our family.
Henry is nearly 18, an exchange student who comes from Finland and will be part of our family for the next year.
He arrives on Sat 3 March - gets Mstrs out of a 30 th birthday party in NP so he can go to Manfield.....
hXc is hoping to go to Finalnd next year so Henry will be able to help him learn some Finnish. Luckily his English is excellent - our Finnish is non existent!!
We have never done anything like this before, so it will be an experience for all of us,hopefully a good one.
When you see us around, please come up and say "Hello" to him, and us too, of course!

An 18 y/o... Hmmm... here for a good time not a long time?
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Him teaching me Finnish won't just be good for when I go there.
There is a rather pretty Finnish girl here already (they know eachother too!) and it would be pretty cool to impress her in her own language. Considering that Finn's are always impressed when people from other countries speak their language anyway, 'cause they know how hard it is!

Cool! What a great experience! I've never actually hosted an exchange student but I used to work on a dairy farm and we used to get farm exchanges from places like Denmark and Ireland and stuff.

It's a real adventure learning all about other people and their languages and lifestyles.

What an excellent adventure for you all!

What...you reckon we should have some of that sauce in the cupboard?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Well done guys - sounds like win/win to me.

Does this mean that Zac is guaranteed a placement for overseas exchange by doing this, or is it an essential requirement of the overseas exchange system.

Sounds like a cool idea. Can you do overseas exchange with 7 year olds? Tim has developed an uppity streak of late...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

You'll have a great time! We have had a wide variety of foreign students and have learnt something from each of them....some things I didn't really want to know mind you, like the Hungarian guy having an affair with his language tutor

Get really involved with them and the experience will give you the most back.

    Have a great time!
