I was a role model teenager. As for the height thing, they gave that up years ago. Heck, they're even letting in recruits that fail basic training.

They get stuck on light duties of some flavour, however (which I understand means no 'customer contact') and paid $33kpa instead of the usual $50k until they do pass.

And there were only 4 graduates in that situation this year.

It's hardly the scandal that our eminent Fourth Estate would like it to be.

    Turn it on it's head...

Someone with the qualification and 5 years experience in industry should reasonably expect to earm...$??

    Vs..

Someone trapping for 10 years is expected to earn ... $??

Now - let's talk bikes, fuel and fun - especially in respect of their costs...

Not necessarily. It's not a job ticket, and nowadays, every Man, Jack and his dog has one (the dog probably has one in shitting and arse sniffing), so all employers do is rank the job applications, and throw out most of them. If you're not amongst the top few, you're still fucked. Yeah, you might have a dgree, but you'll be up against someone with Honours, or a Masters, or 3 or 4 degrees.

Things have changed since your dad's day, bro.
#2 son left school at 16 with no quals (apart from a Linux certificate), and three years later he's a Systems Manager. But he's also amongst the smartest 1% of the population, and he's auto-didactic, and has been studying electronics, communication, computers and programming since he was 7 years old.
That's the exception rather than the rule.
I spent 5.5 years at university, and I earn less in real terms now than I did in 1987.
    So?
