There are essentailly two areas to camp. One among rocky outcrops, and the 2nd a grassy paddock backed by pine trees separarting the two. The woolshed has ALL the facilities, band bar etc. The Middlemarch pub (two blocks behind the main street) is the main collection point before the 3km to the site, but beware you will pay $7.50 for an RTD there, better $ @ the site.

    Yeah, Saturday only for me.

I've been to about three of these now (for some reason I lose count of rallies beyond one) and it is a very nice little rally.
I pitch up in the paddock behind the trees so that I don't have to worry about tripping over rocks in the middle of the night or trying to get the bike up the slope if it rains in the night.

    The woolshed has two 'wings'.
    One has the bar/food/meeting area.
The other has the band/dancing/frottering area.

There are two brilliant rides there.
One is the Pig Route and the other is the Outram-Middlemarch road which has 80km posted corners one after another and climbs up into some spectacular rocky scenery.
I'd suggest you go in one way and out the other.
I'll probably head up the Pig Route, back down to Dunedin and over through Outram on the way there so that I get both routes in the one day.

On the Saturday if you've got time there's also the ride through to McRaes pub to enjoy.

All-in-all a great part of the country.

And remember folks...you don't have to drink to enjoy yourself!

Come through to Hyde and then over to McRaes - Dunback then the coastal roads to Dunedin. I reckon that Hyde hill is the best bit of motorcycle road in Otago.
We don't HAVE to drink??? REALLY?? You mean the morning hangover and night time staggering ISNT COMPULSORY????? This may require a total rethink of the meaning of life

It's a theory I've been developing for some time but I need a willing volunteer to try it out on.

That would be another good route.
You could do that or the Pig Root on Saturday if you were there the night before...or got set up early enough on the Saturday.

Dead right idb. I well remember last year. You weren't drinking after the bar ran out of Bourbon and yet you still enjoyed yourself.
    Time to ride

Divorce is not cheap it has cost me a fortune over the years.

Hope to hang onto this one.

Will enter negotiations with my better half on attending this one. Just have a few things to sort out after shifting down to Dunners but should be there with bells on

Good one, you'n'me will get together and set the standard for all those other idjits that keep hanging around us at rallies.
