Chinese made Qingqi

Hi,

My mate is looking for a cruiser and is possibly looking at this...

Just wondering if any body know's what this bike is like to ride, how reliable and if it is going to fall apart upon leaving the shop?

Ummm... it's chinese built for their own domestic market .... and I have seen them on sale for NZ$1500 equiv over there! The build quality isn't the best, bits will fall off and rattle around. Long as you keep a comprehensive maintenance schedule up, no probs! Just the rusting will be the pits

And oh yeah, you get what you pay for!

Err .. Who are the agents & do they carry any spare bits for them.
Nice to own something different .. if you are into that sort of bike but if you cant get bits for it it would end up being an ornament in someones garage.
Be inclined to keep with the tried and true rolling stock where you have a dealer down the road you can get bits from myself

So is your bike off the road Jaz ??

Be wary. These are sold under different brand names and they all seem to say theirs is the leading Chinese manufacturer... Basically a Honda Rebel copy, the motors may be okay but the rest of the bikes are built to a low cost and you tend to get what you pay for. Be very sceptical of Warranty unless backed by an established NZ company, such as Liberty M/cycles, though I've heard complaints even about them, but at least Mike is well established and well backed these days.

Lifan M/cycles also seem to be fairly well established, but my personal preference would be to buy late model Yamaha or Suzuki.

Without knowing about the brand myself - I would be asking the seller a few questions.

1. How long before the warranty run out ? Is it 6000kms or 1 year (whichever comes first? - Not much time left perhaps if 1 year)
2. "Professional parts and service back up" - Where and who ?

I would also compare this bike to other similar bikes of say, more reputable brands, to see if the money may be better spent on something more common, and of proven reliability.

Likely to be a basic build from what I found out. Probably similar to others comments. I'd recommend NZ new-used bikes first.... stick to the likes of the major reputable Jap brands.

I have dealt with some of the scooters he mentions & they were crap
Steer clear of the thing!!
Spend the extra money & buy a Hyosung,at least they are backed up by Kawasaki NZ
I would not buy anything that I cannot pronounce the name of!!

Nope, it's still goin! A guy I know is wanting to up grade from his 100cc scooter.
Will tell him to stear clear!
