Yea Definately sat down and analysed it at the A and E. i do have to admit i am not the best out there.. so i definatley did resort to "panic" braking.. and i did notice that car changed lanes without indicating before i was close, from now on i am DEFINATELY not "assuming" they can see me!!
I just want to get better asap and get my bike back on road![]()
~Ramyy!!~
Sorry about your ride, dude. I am seriously considering an on-board "black-box" camera for exactly this type of situation.
Anyhow, the important thing is that you made it through in one piece. Your ride is just some metal and plastic, your gear is just some fabric. They can be replaced and therefore are worth absolutely nothing as opposed to kidneys, spleen, or spinal cord.
"People are stupid ... almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule
Gutted to hear about your accident...atleast you came off better than me!! sounds like your bike did too...I went to c my CBR the other day for the 1st time after my crash..poor lil thingI just hope my insurance company decides to repair instead of writing it off....it's only insured for $1500....and it's mainly just smashed up fairings..a mirror..headlight..and an indicator..forks look fine to me..so we'll see
My first thought when i read what happen was...perhaps dont ride in a drivers blind spot...gotta make sure they can see you at the very least, sometimes it dosent matter i know they will move over reguardless and in this case Ramyy came off relatively ok, could have been worse..
I know what you mean, It's easy to blame others for your inexperience as rider. But understand this I am in no way condoning what she did. Shit defnitely happens unexpectedly, like cars swerving into your lanes without indicating. What I have learnt is that it is definitely your job as a rider to anticipate to these stupid stupid acts of drivers. Pretty much your ability to respond to these situations is gonna save your arse.
I mean, I use to blame cars for everything, for this and that. But now after a little more experience on the road I can't expect cage drivers to know what I know.
Your best weapon against this sort of crap is to imporve your riding abilities and your anticipation.
She probably is a crap driver but who really knows, she could've just had a bad day. I mean shit is bound to happen to any rider , glad that it happen to you today, not that is good your bike is screwed, but the reason you got outta there alive and came out with a new sense of direction, you know enlightment, or whatever you want to call it...
bummer dude but glad your ok and here too speak of it and its true all you worry about is the bike and are thankful for the gear
and it wont be long and yourwill live again
Yes cage drivers do SUCK! That's why they protect themselves with all that metal, they know they're going to crash sooner or later!
Have Fun... or don't do it!!!
Yea man, a broken bike is not a big deal in the big picture. Good to hear you're alright though. Same thing nearly happened to me on my first proper ride! Be it so without a license and not knowing how to ride to begin with. Some lady just forced her way over, lucky I was only doing about 5k's in peak hour traffic, or I would have probably done exactly what you did.
Hmm, it cant be THAT bad. I know I went to the AA and they wanted like $900 or more a year for like 3rd party with huge excess.. but I'm with VERO now and I pay $34 a month now ($400 per year) for full coverage. There are plenty of people who spend $34 a week on piss and smokes, so I don't think $34 a month is to horrible.
