The engineer responsible for that bike was the same guy who designed the RC166 250cc six. He had visited a USAF base and been impressed by the F4 Phantom. The orange and black instruments on that bike were inspired by the Phantom's gauges. So too was an exhaust system he had fabricated that made the bike sound like a Phantom. Sadly someone further up the financial food chain was not impressed by the idea and that exhaust was canned.
