Far out food smells yummy

I love Mark! Really, he is such a cool as man. He bought the fixings for tonight and when he came to drop off my xray form (dont ask) at work, I said he should just buy a bag of rice. He said too late, we have the individual serves  I get to make my guests cook their own

Cook is a loose word in this sentence

Wow Matt that sucks that its not an easy fix! Hopefully you can still make it up on ur mates bike or in the car at least!

Did we have a name of the cafe in Paihia where we are stopping for lunch? Cafe Over The Bay gets my vote if for some weird reason that has yet to be decided. As just guessing my group will arrive there first :first:

Me and my flat mate are leaving from here ( Sandringham) around 8am. What time you leaving? Probably going Nor- Western to Albany then Dairy Flat Highway( State highway 17). Should be less traffic that way.

Just back from a prelim check over the road from Awanui to the Cape - all sweet.

I'll be running the full route (but in the reverse direction) that you guys are on tomorrow from Mangonui via Paihia and hope to be able to time things so that I pick you all up at Gull Whangarei. Figuring that most of you should be there by 11 - 11.30 ish but if I miss you spotting 23 hooligans on motorcycles shouldn't be too hard.

So ride safely.

Cheers

Well I am home safe from what can only be described as one of THE best weekends i've had in a long time, Thank's everyone you are all an amazing bunch of people, and extra special thanks to Maha and Mom, so well organised and run, love you guys to bits:love: I made it to the Cape, all be it with a slight emotional breakdown halfway:violin:. Sooooooo much fun, and on my ride home I averaged 95/100kms most of the way, so have improved a bit already. Now just to get some decent gloves. And big Kudos to Graham and Irene what a mammoth effort on their part, and a beautiful place to stay.:first:

What a fantastic weekend! So much fun. We got home safely with a full posse of riders accompanying. I was under the impression everyone was going their own way after our last re-group at Mangawhai. They were, but had one small problem...

I still had some of the gear in the car :o

Exceptional weekend!
Huge thanks to the Group leaders/Rear leaders for thier input and effort over the three days.
The success of the weekend is all down to those who were there.
Each and everyone of you had a hand in making the North trip a memorable pleasure.
The accomodation (Graeme/Irene) ...outstanding!
The ''shit load of fun'' factor was endless.
Really impressed with the newer riders ...even if one or two of them liked to swim in the cold waters of Doubtless Bay at 7:30am!...
...and the Chocolate....ohhhhhhh the Chocolate.
The weather was absolutely stunning all three days.

Here are some Calendar contender pics.

After starting with the long Thursday night riding/driving, it finally all caught up with me yesterday - Hence my disappearing and hitting the sack early, plus I knew I was going to be riding one of my favourite stretches of road (namely Twin Bridges) and wanted to be fresh and ready for it.

:Punk:

Noticed a problem with my bike in the last ~50km home, if i'm doing less then 70 and let go, the head starts shaking worse and worse. No idea when it started, because it only happens it only happens when there is no damping on the steering (namely me holding on) and I don't do a lot of no handed riding. Only happens sub 70kph though.

I'm thinking wheel alignment, anything else it could be?

Big feed of Mac'n'Cheese just out of the oven, thanks to "Chef Andy" for doing the sauce for me :niceone:

The very lovely Scot has offered to drive said chef home for us, so the least I could do is offer sustenance

Not sure about any one else but I am a little jaded, and I was mainly a passenger this weekend.
I tried to do the washing but our machine is busted:facepalm:. Never mind, should have enough clean to get us through till it's fixed.

Got home and all I wanted to do was collapse. Then I found I had to head in to work. Bummer...

Quick blast in to town and then came home to make ham, cheese and tomato toasteds and a pile of pancakes. Yum...

Awsome weekend guys. New friends made and, even as some of the more experienced riders, some lessons learned (never too late for that). Looking forwad to the next one we can be part of.

Loose headset, bent fork or frame, wheel out of true or balance. In no particular order. Also do wheel alignment.

So, it's 1:30 in the morning, I've finally arrived HOME! And would you believe it, I feel great!!! Anyone wanna come out for a night ride? Lol, jokes! :bleh:

Roadworks galore on the motorway, think I spent more time detouring around them all than actually on the motorway heading south for the whole ride home pretty much. Never mind, made for a more interesting trip home. Yes, I did have my clear visor in the boot of my bike, definitely don't leave home for a long trip without it. Thanks to Mom and Maha for once again making me feel like family, so nice to be accepted for 'who I am' LOL! And of course for the amazing weekend, planned down to the very last little detail and executed in the best fashion. WHENS THE NEXT ONE! I'm KEEN!!!!!!!

Have to say, my favorite part of the whole weekend was when myself and Reggie1198 went for a bit of a blat, God I LOVE his bike! (I will gratefully accept any and all donations for fundraising towards one of my own!) So that was really cool of him to take me and my little old baby-blade out, muchly appreciated. As well, the pub at Houhora (?is that how it's spelt?) was amazing, apart from losing two out of three games of pool! Great company though, I have to admit! And, to top it all off I arrived back to my humble abode safely, bike still running mint (in fact I think it loves the cold night air too much, wanted to keep going straight past my driveway!)

Now I'm ranting on like a drunk - oh wait, that's right, there was a bottle of Jim Beam in there somewhere too! HAHA!

Again, a wicked weekend, exactly what I needed, look forward to seeing you all again real soon!

Ride safe!

(Oh, and if anyone is ever down these ways, you know - past the Bombay hills, message me and pop by for a visit, anytime!)

Still sifting through the picks here Doogy...I have a Calendar pic picked out all ready...pic 28 and 29 and 30 is Matt/Anna.

22 and 58 are the money worthy of a calendar spot...(17 also if Ash/Becks and Matt were in focus)
And thats a great photo of Bo and Irene.
I might let Anne have a go at doing that flickr thing with our photos also...cos I have no idea..
We have some good shots of the bikes coming up the Brynderwyns/leaving the bridges etc...

The grin on your face when you got off your bike up there will be one the most enduring memories I will take away from this weekend Jo.

A big thanks also to all the leaders and TEC's you helped out heaps even though it must have been a bit frustrating at times not being able to open it up.

Frustration does not come into things on a ride like this. Of course people can ride faster or what have you, they chose to smell roses along the way from time to time is all :sunny:

Maybe on the first day riders are responsible for there own lunch, ie bring sandwiches etc. And just stop somewhere nice. And one day make the lunch stop by a bakery.

And a dinner one night to be made by the riders at where ever we stay. Organisers, leaders and Tecs are to sit and watch as they do the alot of work during the time.

Good points Rob.
We stayed at a camp in Taupo last year, they have a massive kitchen/under cover eating area with B-B-Q's.
We all chipped in for stuff to fry up etc..cheap way of doing it and bang on fun afterwards.
Scott was there, he'll tell ya.
We wont always get the treatment like we did at the weekend.
Cafe's/bakery's are a good idea..that one in Kaikohe not being open was a real arse (the website said it was open, but its Kaikohe)
I look at these rides for the fun factor and to make sure everyone is well pleased when they eventually get home.
Long may they continue.
I dealt with an issue at the weekend when it was brought to my attention and that was the end of that.
I wont tollerate is the game plan being changed.
I will always try to keep the cost per head to a minimum.
Splitting into groups worked really well..nothing but praise from the group leaders.
One big group for last bit of Sunday worked just as well (not alot of other vehicles around on those roads helped)

The only thing I wont tollerate is the game plan being changed.
I will always try to keep the cost per head to a minimum.
Splitting into groups worked really well..nothing but praise from the group leaders.
One big group for last bit of Sunday worked just as well (not alot of other vehicles around on those roads helped)

You can expect ze resident cheffie down to help supervise the BBQ  OOhhhh I'll be a leader!!! ...Oh wait I need a bike that goes first!
