Thats what they use in karting too. Wonder if the system for a 260 is the same but they only will work at a slower speed

Does anyone want an RG150 frame? Make me an offer... beer and whiskey considered...

What u see is what u get, can't be arsed putting it on tardme and its not really worth the hassle of shipping, might be able to arrange to get to manfeild next winter round, prob cost beer to get someone to deliver for me. got a couple of 'lectrickery things on it still, but not full loom or power-valve gear or anything. no rear shock, think the linkages are there tho.

gettin rid of shit.

Anyone need MC16 NSR electrics or anything like that let me know, engine went to F3 bike and Chassis/swingarm went to my bucket. Full set of good cond original fairings but might have ahome for those already270986

Im thinking of selling mine and building another one. I hate it when I get a stupid idea.

Im thinking I might be better off letting a beginner use my bike on race days and just maintain it for them.

Has anyone got a future talent that needs a bike to start out on?

And the Banana is for sale again

This machine has done so much for so many people starting bucket racing it should be gold plated, mounted and used as a trophy! (Only if someone pays for it though, can't afford to donate it).

I have lost count of the number of people who have told me they used to own it.

Believe it or not, I have discovered that a friend of mine did the initial build back in the 90's. He got all nostaligic when he visited a few months back.

Come on, if you have owned if before, 'fess up here!

Never owned it, probably more down to timing as Steve and Ellen still didn't want to sell at that point.

But it was the first bucket I ever rode, and the first road bike I ever fell off (anti clockwise lost the front in the infield). Had never crash started a bike before that off, but as the banana had stalled I had little choice but to learn, I nailed it an did another 20 laps or so before the end of the session.

I was hooked.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=523446810

In case you are wondering about it's handling given it's nickname "the banana", that came about when the second owner (Pongo) a decade or more ago, who worked at a well known hire company, painted the whole thing bright yellow. Having been around the Auckland scene for so long, this bike is pretty well sorted and capable of being punted well up the B grade field, much to the frustration of the odd FXR punters.

yeah should be 17 of course. He did a few (Chris original owner) at his work, but was std fare for RGs, cut a TZR wheel rim out & bam the rim on the RG wheel.

thus fit straight in, same brakes, spacers, lightweight cushdrive. Just need a skilled welder as they can easily go oval if you don't know what you are doing.

Further silliness: Completely rebuilt frame to fit 19" back wheel. Of course the frame wasn't touched for that reason, plenty of others for losing weight though.

Also - fuel pump? Naaah.

A wheel gets round when you lace it, it can be perfect in the box with no hub, but an amateur assembly will see it ready for clown bikes.

Got home at 10 & decided to make a captive spacer for the front wheel & then another for the spoked hub for the wet wheel. All went well so as therapy I laced the rim & got it to within 5mm of straight & tried it in the forks to see how much it has to come over. 12:30 by then so to bed to be finished later.
Er... but Dave can lace a wheel. ps nothing is ever perfectly round.

I have a Cb350 cams bike some where that has CB250RS rims on it when it was lace up by the previous owner he i guess never noticed they were drilled slightly different spoke patterns each spoke is slightly bent near the rim. Honda used 32 spokes a lot from the late 80's on the MX bikes too.
A lot of 65 and 85 MX bike have other numbers the KX85 is 32 front and 28 rear for instance. I had a pair of wheels i was going to use for the light weight hubs but had a coronary when i priced the Sun rims to suit these........

OK OK, it can't be perfect. But it needs to be pretty fuckin bad before someone who knows their shit can't make it useable.

I welded the rear wheel on my daughters bike back together after it broke, and it runs true enough for all intent and purpose.

No my father told me who has a lone of it at present. but the name meant nothing to me.
I should actually make inquiries into getting it back. Before it is lent out again.
I lent it to skeater (Colin) he lent it Russy (phil) for a while.I think the guy who has now does fly in and out to Aussie.
I brought it off Bruce Wearing but in fairness used to borrow it quite a bit before then.

I have a new set of rollers (i think) plus 1 spare crank which is also f-ed. but on all ten cranks the hardening will be gone i guess.
Always wondered why someone does cut out the built in crank pin and make them rebuildable.

From what i remember though the crank wheels are mighty hard.....

Cheers for that ill ask if he would ship. Would be a good deal if he will...

Alternatively a loncin/GL145 (I hear they are the same) although my mate seems to be avioding them a bit as they only have a 2 valve head and tend not to be able make the same sort of power as a semi-hotted FXR.
Does anyone know if you can get 4 valve heads for the loncins ? Are they pretty much the same engine as every other 150 chinese engine?

Putting this on here on behalf of a mate, he has two FXR's in his shed that he is wanting to move. I haven't had a chance to get round there and have a look at them and see what the current state of them is but both bikes have been run regularly at Mt Wellington before he broke his collar bone a couple of years back.

One is No. 67 Murrey & Zacks old bike, and the other is 22 is original FXR. I think he is wanting $1000 each.

PM me and I will pass on his details if you are interested.

The in answer question is from me saying it's an MX one and way over priced, hopefully the relist or FPO will be more realistic if no bids come in. Convinced this will be one of the ex Rodney ones, not much call for MX transponder of MX north of the bombards now.

Could make a good sidecar engine or set it up for a newbie it does 95kph ive rode it over the rimutakas and it smoked cars even its pretty cool little bike the only reason im not fixing it is im off to australia,

I was frustrated with trying to find a muffler to fit under my FXR that had some volume to it. I ended up finding and buying a pair of stainless mufflers from a 2008 Triumph Street Triple. They'd only had about 1000kms done on them and the one I have on my FXR sounds quite nice

I purchased the pair for $160 so I would like to recover half of that, ie $80.
See photos below, pick up is North Shore, Auckland. I can post but I'm pretty busy so I hope you don't need it instantly.

Length approx 340mm, width approx 140mm

Muffler sold pending payment/delivery

Very acceptable (read: a shit load quieter than it was before). I don't have a meter but I would expect it to pass a test (knock on wood!).

Maybe Brian or Henk could pipe in here and comment as they were at Te Puke for its first run with the new muffler. The tune was way out and was running like a dog but that's not the mufflers fault.

Hi,

This is my old steel GSXR frame which my nephew stuck a Lifan 150 in. He is now working overseas so it has to go.

The Lifan is slow (maybe 12 HP?) but has only had about 6 outings since new and would make a good starter bike
It has Dunlop slicks which have a lot of life on them and the bike handles very well.
Braided brake line and nyloned. The tank has the bottom cut out with a plastic 3.5L tank fitted.
Doesn't look good, been left out in the weather and has a bit of surface rust, so TLC will may be in order.
Want $400 for it.

Yeap, not really trying to sell it particularly hard. Might use it in a go-kart yet. I'll offer it to those guys though, cheers.

Its actually not that heavy. Maybe 30kg. Get rid of a head/cylinder/rod (but they have a pressed pin which is ass) and it wouldn't be too bad. Could get it under a 100 total.
Def wouldn't be built to win. More to get someone on it and be different.

24th June 2013, 11:12
Hi all.
You wanna step up the appearance and feel of your Bucket MotoGP racer?
Got an RS125 chassis bike, but want the later model tank for it?

I am making gas tanks for the NX4 2000+ model RS125 (the flat top, flush mount cap ones) if anyone is interested.
Can make them in regular GRP, Carbon/Kevlar (recommended for strength, abrasion resistance and weight), or Carbon (more difficult to work, light but a bit weaker, needs to be reinforced).
Will use vinyl ester resin or epoxy resin (for chemical i.e. fuel, resistance) depending on customer preference.
Will not be able to guarantee that the finish will be perfect, so the tanks will likely require a bit of finishing and painting.
Customers will have to fit their own fuel cap, spigots/tap and breather.
Can be supplied with anti-slosh foam if desired.

NX4 tanks are almost impossible to find these days and cost moonbeams if you can find one, especially the later model ones.
I think that the NX4 tank will fit onto the NF4 chassis and you will be able to make it fit your CBR's and FXR's I am sure.
For the latter you might need a custom base, which can be done with some effort.

But, don't all rush at once, I don't have the time or facilities to make hundreds of them.
