there's a Waitemata club family day at woodhill, not sure what else is on though. Superbikes is on the following weekend, and moto gp is also having a break. Junior masterchef's on prime on saturday and we've got a dinner to go to.
I guess there will be trailrides on around the country, maybe some racing somewhiere, I dunno. Buckets was last weekend.
Oh, on Four is blackhawk down at the moment.

Oh, if you really have nothing to go to, the MNZ AGM's on in Palmerston. That's about the limit of what I know is on, but it's impressive I know that much.
hahaha (sorry for not quoting post above Pumba's - being lazy)

I would very much like to borrow a carb that is of similar size and shape to a 24mm OKO/KEIHN flatslide.

I have one on its way (or not and i got scammed $700) but in the meantime I am trying to mount my engine. As there is not much room to play with in the carb vicinity, I would like to check clearances etc before I commit to making the mounts.

No... must be a mistake... $700 notes... I purchased my OKO carb.. landed for just over $100... maybe you brought half a doz... and got a bulk discount..

Has anybody got a 15mm wheel axle that is at least 250mm long? Needs to 'standard' type. (Bolt head on one end and thread on the other)

A TZR 1KT rear axle would work...

Any idea if either GSXR250 or Impulse axles would work and are you after front or rear?
Just read your post again. That would be rear.

Moooools

I have no idea if they would work. If you could measure one up it would be good.

It doesn't matter if it is front or rear, just that it is 15mm and over 250mm long.
15mm is the same diameter as an FXR front axle...

TZR real wheel in a RGV frame per chance?

TZR real wheel in a RGV frame per chance?

No. Try RS 125 front wheel in zxr 250 forks in tzr frame. The zxr forks have a 20mm axle so I am having to do some adaptation. The axle is going to be modified so it doesn't really matter what it is off.

3" x 17" Front Rim
4" x 18" Rear Rim (Who cares if its a 18" you can still get good tyres and it makes fuck all difference)

Anyone got a rear brake caliper for an FXR in the parts bin complete with the mounting plate.
The reason the back brake on Michelle's FXL100 drags would seem to be that one of the pins that the caliper slides on is corroded completely solid. Can't seem to budge it no matter what I try. Going to steal one off one of the other bikes for now but that will have to be replaced eventually.

I need an FXR right foot peg bracket or help to fix the one I've got. It's bent inwards below the crack.

Edit: I'm also after a right mirror.

im building up my SL100..
definately want to keep the original wheels, so it's all stock (it's a 1970 model)..
i cant physically go any wider either..

are there slicks available in these sizes or am i dreaming?
if they are a no go, what would be the next best for the track?

front - max poss. tyre width 80 (stock is 70 or 2.75) @ 19 inch

rear - max poss. tyre width 90 (stock is 82.5 or 3.25) @ 17 inch

yeah the wheels on the XL100's were either 19/17 or 19/16 i think..

i have wheels.. 19 front and 17 rear..

only really after advice on slicks or similar at the widths and rim sizes as above..

Slicks you'll be able to get 17s, any other size the tyres will be 90 years older than god.

F5 Dave
20th September 2011, 12:03
Sorry bud, you are not just dreaming but delusional. 19" slicks, ho ho.

Not trying to be mean (it comes naturally) but slicks are only made for race bikes & in the last 20 years that meant 17".

Your rear rim will be 1.6 wide or close & will only suit a skinny tyre. a 90 slick needs ideally a 2.5" rim, but you can get away with a 2.15.

So you have a nice little SL you want to keep stock. Put some Trials tyres on it & spin it around the place keeping it in good order if that's what you want.

Then go buy a bucket & find some decent tyres/wheels to match.

Not sure if the swing arm is the same. But I have been working on an XR100. I managed to get a FZR 17 inch to fit into the rear with a 115 x 17 Slick. As for the front end I had a nicely setup CB125 twin forks and FZR front wheel. The forks fitted straight into the original tripple clamps. The only issue might be with the stock rear shocks :(.. Should be a good F5 tho (when I get round to finishing it !!)

May be the same, depending on how old yours is..
I'm waiting to hear back re tyres (not slicks).
If I can't get anything decent, I think I may lace up some 17" rims to some hubs I have.. then get the slicks.
Or get some different forks (31mm - I have a list of all the bikes with this size forks)..
Rear shocks - I am putting my old XV250 (Virago) shocks on mine - 40mm lower..

Have Talked my Dad into racing this weekend (was a combined effort, took a bit of persuasion). Is there any one out there with a spare back protector and some boots, size US 12 or mayb 11 (around euro 44-46ish), which my dad could utilise for the weekend would be super choice!.

Cheers.

I wear size 11 and have a pair of boots a bit small for me that he may squeze into

Basically just after anything with a decent weight spring, so i can go straight on to the swingarm, instead using a linkage setup. This is for my RS50 frame.

That will require a quiet stiff spring for say 100mm of wheel travel. (I did it on my old RG) Start looking at a 250 shock perhaps.

Asking here for a friend.

He's looking for a suitable 125 2 stroke engine for his FZR framed bucket to be. So GP125, TF etc, any suggestions or have something hanging out that may be of interest please contact me. Preferably in Auckland but may travel for something worthwhile. Muchas gracias

That crank looks pretty rusty. You are pretty much up for new bearings in any old shitter though, if you want it to last more than a few races.

Cheers Dave. I'm sure he'd do a great job but I'm thinking a little more budget than that. What I have in mind is something a bit munted that I could cut down as a temporary measure until I can sort something a bit prettier. Or an easy way to quieten down the can/cone I already have.

I've got a couple of spare KR150 ones.

Could do a full, frame / shock / swing arm / rear 18" wheel / disk / and complete rear brake system if anyone needed such.

Heidenau do great 18" race compound rubber, so that's no issue.

Also.... while I'm, here.... :shifty: ... RideLife has 2.75- 16" Heidenau race rubber in stock for those still running the smaller hoops.

Cheers.

Probably a long shot, but does any one out there have an exhaust or even just a header pipe for a FXR surplus to requirements.
Failing that, any suggestions on any other suitable donor pipes?

Cheers

I've used a VFR 400 header on one. The diameter was ballpark OK (larger) and the bends are in the right place. I had to slot the holes in the flange to suit the wider FXR holes.

May be a suitable pipe to build from if you happen to have one lying on the floor like I did.

I dont see why not....

anyways, I've got a stator coil in unknown condition - XL125 1980-85ish looks like this one but with unpainted motor (http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/photogallerys/Honda-XL-125-12.jpg)

I have a pair of gsx250 rims, 17 x 2.5 front and 17 x 3.5 rear. (with discs, sprocket, cush drive assy, and tyres (100 and 130)
Looking to swap for a pair of 17 inch RGV rims, or just the rear for a rear RGV rim. Looking for a 4, 4.25 or even 4.5 rear rim with the narrower suzuki rear hub, Late RGV ones I know fit but maybe you know that others do to GS500 maybe? 155mm from disc to sprocket, not the bigger ones that are 185 wide hubs.
Or any other decent motard rims for my DR650....What you got!

No slicks but I do have a set of rooted tyres here that you can have for said purpose. The only catch is that they are still attached to a set of GSXR rims that you would need to remove them from.
