Boring stuff about your boring life.

  1. Its awesome when the planets align

I just wanted to touch on the club racing scene from my limited perspective in the very short time ive been involved.
Just let me start by saying im an older rider by many racers point of view and considered still a young one by a few others, at 40 years of age married with three kids ill let you form your own conclusion.

I really hate driving down the road only to have some beautiful red Porsce Carrera pull up next to me with a geriatric Abe Simpson type charactor sitting ...
  2. Tri Series Last Week - Southern Cross This Week!

Last week I helped out as a rider for the Wellington leg of the Triathlon Series. In the Age Group event I carried a marshall, who was rather officious, penalising several riders with 1 minute time penalties for draughting. In past events, my marshalls would tend to get me to get up close behind errant riders in order that our presence would deter them from doing it, or if another competitor complained, then a rider would get a warning, but seldom was any action taken. It was good fun though, blatting ...

  3. Az%)

Daughter crashed my little AZ50 the other day she was ok bar a broken collar bone.
The bike looked not bad and was able to ride it the bike shop to have a look see.
Wow front struts twisted and frame bent. The guy said a possible write off but its up to the insurance.
And it was only a small dent in the door of the other car, man it does not take much.

Will alo took my Voyager in for the first 3k service. Been only 2 months been to palmy and ...

  4. Stonehenge Aotearoa

Another two ride week. It was Mum's birthday yesterday so I decided to nip over to Masterton and take her out for lunch and today was a dusk ride to Stonehenge Aotearoa with Ulysses.

I had to go to town first to pick-up a book for Ann, then got straight on the Motorway and headed up to Caltex Rimutaka to fill up. I got away from the gas station at 1058, it was 17° and although it looked like it was going to rain and the road was wet, I got to the top of the hill unscathed and all ...

Oh Oh Oh Oh My Gawd....!!!!!.....

I just came in my trousers.......

    Left work at 4:00
Rode like a demon (albeit a Hyo demon) home
    Pulled into the driveway
Saw the WMC Ute with my shiny beastie on the back of it at the end of the driveway.....

Off comes the jkt and helmet, out comes the camera. Off the ute comes the bike.....

Paperwork and a run down on the bike from Jim.....Slipped some $ to the man, and for the ...

  6. It's arrived

28th Febuary - Wet, Cold, Blowing like a barsteward. But you could not wipe the smile from my face even if you had me with a ten foot pole..

    Reason.........My new steed arrived...

So it was off to the shop to see it uncrated.

Thanks to Pete from WMC for taking the time out to do this. Was just like christmas.

Gotta like the way they are packed up and transported nowadays.

Some pics included. Only took the boxing off, ...

  7. Offerings to the Gods of Stationary

Turns out I only break my bike when it's stopped.

    1) Hit from behind by a car when I stopped at a stop sign (bike written off... entire rear end and left hand side were squished... not to mention my fractured ribs, bruising and concussion)

    2) Bolt sheared off from starter clutch and got flung around inside engine. Ended up replacing the whole engine.

    3) Even the tyre developed a slow leak and deflated while the bike was parked at work.

  8. no sleep rant

    I'm still awake..

Which means 2 things, I should steer away from caffeine and high energy foods at night...

And if I get some sleep it will not be enough to function in a safe manner at work, so I should take the day off, which probably won't matter anyway as it's so quiet at the moment.

I don't know whether to blame the lack of activity on the dreaded "RECESSION" or the fact that un-named boss has a shit reputation for charging through the nose and also ...
