  1. The KRL (Kawasaki Loncin) Project!!!

    So the plan goes like this...

    Late 90's KR150 frame, being cut down for weight and new shaping. Has standard forks and rims (18"rear & 16" front), but will look to put 17" rims on. 15 month old Loncin 150 engine to be transplanted. Racing CDI unit but to be later replaced with home made (by Bert) programable unit. Standard KR rear brake caliper, with front to be sourced. Home made fairings and seat/cone. Home made hangers with standard gearing, not race shift. Colour yellow and called ...

  2. Finally!!!

    The big day finally arrived!!

    I woke up at 5:00am, probably cos I was excited that I was finally getting my bike to the track. I stayed in bed rather than getting up cos it's just wrong to be getting out of bed when it's still dark. Eventually my alarm went off, I turned it off and didn't move. It's bloody cold at 5:45am

    Dragging my arse out of bed I climbed into some clothes, picked up the 4 necessaries (keys, wallet, phone and glasses) and headed out into the fricken ...

  4. On Handstands and Helmets

    So, I have a new helmet! First one in three years, in fact. Picked it up from Colemans Suzuki this morning, and boy does it feel good! There really is nothing like that new helmet feel, and the intense clarity of a brand new scratch-free visor. I remember the first time I experienced one of those. 17 years old, setting off on a three week South Island trip as a pillion. The day before Christmas I realised the visor of the helmet I had been wearing was really not conducive to taking it he panorama ...

    [QUOTE=howdamnhard;1129676961]

    And all this trouble because of a woman,ha,ha. So have you managed to get it going yet and what was the problem?
    Well fuel pump just primed, and starter motor turned ove rslightly after putting the right switchblock back together, though the starter button is still very dodgy, need to clean its connections or something.

    Still needing to get that 10 fuse, for testing had a 20 in there but considering the last 10 burnt out ...

  7. I can't wait for Thursday ...

    I'm really keen on the Redline Track day on Thursday. I took her out for a bit of a scoot again and I'm really starting to get excited after riding her a little.

    The day started out a little late cos I couldn't be arsed getting out of bed. Probably had something to do with Nick, Brooke and Simon turning up on the doorstep at 10:30pm on Friday night with plenty of booze. I climbed into the Vodka while Brooke attacked the 2 bottles of red he bought for us (but I wasn't keen on it cos ...
  8. RG150 Racer piston relacement - how often?

I went out this weekend with a brand new piston that had been properly worn in for just over 200k's and managed to seize it. Granted, the most likely cause is the fuel starvation to the engine but I guess what I am trying to say is that you can never be too certain
