  1. The posting of the first!

The musings and happenstances of a wayward motorcycling enthusiast in his short time as a new convert to this most elegant and charming of past-times. A rudimentary embellishment of experiences and post-reflection of occurences, encounters and other correspondence.

The story starts with a glint in my father's eye ... the other being temporarily weeping since a gnat had strayed into it requiring tear ducts to stream. In this state, the watery residue magnified the alluring qualities ...
  2. There is no logic to riding.

There is no logic to riding. (Or: Napier – Timaru return on a Honda NV400)

I have all my life been proud of my logic. It has always been my strongest attribute. When at school I soon realised that my memory had faults, and if it had been a Hard Drive it would have been sent back for a warranty replacement straight away. But I sadly did not come with a warranty. So I learnt to rely on my logic to fill the memory gaps.

  3. The XR1200 I wanted a V-ROD but.......

  6. Brett (Grub) Collings - RIP

I wrote this the day after Brett died to help me through the 'process' of witnessing a tragedy. It wasn't intended for general consumption, but I have decided to post it after being encouraged to do so by Kari and others. I still struggle with the fact that the incident happened, I speculate on what could have caused Brett to 'lose it', and the fact that, if it happened to any one of those riding with him, we would probably still be here. That he was on this type of ride, knowing the risks to himself, ...
