  2. Don't you hate it!

After work today I had to make a quick trip to Dunedin 165km return in the golden hour before dark. Because of the need to carry much we took my wife's vehicle. Temperature 12 degrees C, no wind. So still that eflections on lake Waihola (no time to stop to collect a photo) were eye catching.
That's not what I hate! It's the 23 lucky riders of all sorts enjoying an excellent evening ride!
All sorts of bikes, in the dusk light and the dark. Solos, groups of two and three and bowling ...
  3. The Custom Bike bug

The weekend gone (6 - 8 June 2008) was the Twin Club MC Custom Bike Show in Norrtalje in Sweden. http://www.custombikeshow.se/ I used to go there in the late 70's and the 80's. In fact the whole Scandinavian summer was spent travelling to different shows and bike parties each w/e. There was never any aggro, patches of all sorts happily mingled and no bikes were stolen or damaged. I understand that it is still the same over there. And yes, non-custom and jap bikes were ok too. A biker is a biker ...

  4. Full of Energy Motorcycle Rally 2008 - Veltru

The annual Full of Energy Rally in Veltrusy, Czech Republic.

MC group Full of Energy each year throws a huge rally - this year being bigger than the rest! Camping near or on the banks of the Labe river, the nights were filled with motorcycles, rock and roll, and of course, beer

While my personal favorite was the wet t-shirt wet short contest, I was unfortunate not to have a camera ...

  6. A ride when you are not having a ride!

The Big River Bikers were to have their first road run today. I didn't even make the start!
I was away at dawn to capture some of the snow scenes which had accumulated in the southerly over night.
I wasn't keen on the lunch ride from Balclutha to Port Chalmers from the time Metservice sent me an e-mail on the subject of weather warnings yesterday afternoon which warned me about gales here on the east coast to the tune of 120 kph. We got that, well a few gusts of that speed.

Kendog and I flew down early Saturday morning on the same flight as Fishy, and we were collected from the airport by the lovely SpeedyGirl. Arrived at Ruapuna to find the Welly team all set up and running the

She's got fresh gear box oil, bled brakes, a firm chain, pumped up tyres and I've just given her a big drink and popped a few sea sick tablets in her tank for the trip on the ferry tomorrow
She's very excited to be going on her first big adventure to the South Island, she just hopes she doesn't freeze her cute little butt off while she's down there, but I told her we'll ask Uncle Skunk if she can squeeze in between her cousin from the Skunk bucket
