  1. Post GC – Getting Back to Normal

I had to come down off the high and get the energy levels back up after completing the GC this week and being a short week for me meant it went pretty quick.

On Tuesday, my lower back and shoulders were pretty tight from struggling in the crosswinds on Sunday so a Massage was in order, but that was about the only event for the week.

I didn't have a ride planned for this week but decided to visit my mum in Masterton on Sunday. I finally cleaned the bike then had a pleasant ...

  2. Big Tank + Hard Arse = 2100Kms in 24 hours!

Thanks to a big tank capable of 400+Kms at uneconomic speeds and a hard arse to endure 22˝ hours in the saddle at those speeds…I completed the RNGC 1000 mile ride plus 500km extension. That’s 2100Kms to mark the 21st anniversary of the event.

After last year's GC I was elated to finish in 21 hours and keen to make it an annual pilgrimage. I found I was even more motivated after starring in and viewing the DVD of last year's event and when Lee advised of the extension to mark the 21st ...

  3. Can cops pull you over.......?

this day a cop can pull you over for any reason that is in their little black book - how ever, just aswell you where on a 250cc and nothing bigger as being on a restricted he could have still fined you, or worse suspended your licence. what he may have been looking for was your bright yellow target known as an L Plate
  4. Only 8000Kms till Christmas

Between the weather and the desire to preserve tyres for the Grand Challenge, the last two weeks have been very lean on K's. In fact, this week is the first in over two years that I didn't use the bike to go to work at all and I've probably only done 200-300Kms.

My total rides were a jaunt up to Raumati Sth last Friday to see a client. It was a beautiful day, although a little cool after the southerlies from the previous days, and the short ride was made a little more interesting ...

  6. Dad does Tokyo

My dad was here for a week last week. It was great to see him because every time I go back to NZ I go to Auckland, but I don't always manage to get to Levin where he lives. I have told him a few times that he should come over but he never seemed that interested, until lately when I pointed out that I would only be here a few months more and he might not get another chance.
We spent a few days getting around by bike since I have so many now ...

    Hello the two Robs

Thank you both for a very very enjoyable day out there at Manfeild yesterday.

Being my first time on the track was awesome, and provided another perspective of my riding technique and also the capacity of the bike. Technique: through the day I was able to focus on turn approaches, braking and counter steering –
