hopefully tomorrow is fine off to cycle treads to get new rear tyre. the pirelli sport demon on the rear has a little meat left but i find myself not impressed with the amount of use it has had They seem to be very soft and just dont last long enough I hope the bt 45 that is going on the rear will last a lot longer. does anyone else have a good or bad opinion of these tyres i have to admit there really good on the dry and excellent grip just not good mileage.
Actually this is a trike isnt it... spotted this guy on my way to pick up the VFR (yes its here!). I was intending to get a pic of the guy and his pile of stuff but when I pointed the camera all I got was a pile of stuff - I think his load is taller than he is himself. Anyway enough about that, I have much more important things to discuss today. The VFR is finally here! So far I've only spent a grand total of 20km riding on it so I'll ...
Dedicated to the memory of our Mentor, Uncle B. Thank you to our selectors this week carbacca and Stella, their selections made for interesting reading and again the RRRS course in Auckland is raised. Also the question raised by discotex about what tools etc to carry….I have tacked on the replies listing items that have been suggested. Well this week is the Winter Solstice so from here on in for a few months be extra careful out there and ride to the conditions. ...
Check out this guys mirror helmet. Bike couriers are pretty common here, not quite as common on scooters like this though, I think non-scooter bike couriers are probably slightly more numerous. By the way my wife told my why I hardly ever see bike couriers riding cubs, when cubs are so common for other types of delivery - bike couriers ride their own bike. So that explains it, a cub is ok if your employer is providing it, but not to have as your own ...
The weather forecast had been for solid rain from Friday, but it turned out to be really fine. However now this week is forecast for solid rain from Friday again. I suspect this is because my new bike got delayed for a week, so the rain moved forward to this Friday to piss me off... Anyhow we made the most of the weather on the Sunday, and went for a trip right to the southern-most point of Chiba, ...
This week was cold but it flew by as they seem to these days and I experienced a couple of firsts. Early in the week, I was looking after my mates Jake & Elane-Mei again but this time after going through the pantomime for Jake to get his lolly, I was greeted by Elane by her putting her arms up to be picked up. She was full of smiles and very friendly and we reckoned it was a greaze to get a lollipop, so we gave it a shot and sure enough.....what a drooler. She enjoyed her first sweety ...
Spotted this dude today, riding a trial bike with plates, indicator, lights etc. It's a pretty good ride as far as novelty effect goes, but after that it's just plain stupid. I mean, there is nothing to sit on so he was just standing up the whoooole time
Back in Dunners today, chokeing my way down Cavvie Valley Rd and noticed the postie blatting down the lefthand footpath at a fair pace from mail box to mailbox, faster than I was going! Honda 110 I guess, I couldn't actually see it because of the panniers and mail bag. Rough drive ways and lumpy ashphalt this rider was a pro. Doen't know how she/he held onto the next group of letters to deliver. Green dayglo jacket pro motorcycle rider. Go for it. The mail must get through. Good on ya! ...
