2007 Harley Davidson 883 XL engine for sale

I bought this from Fallencycles out of Florida for a project bike I'm no longer in a position to complete. Traveled just under 14,000km, from an injected model but can be set up to run on carb setup.

The Egli frame design works great to hid the oil tank.

okay I always like the at the fronts split either side look kind of like a Daytona 500.
But year egli frame makes sense you would remember the Blackadder Lindsay Williams.

Actually no, but I did a quick search, found a pic and reference to it from a BEAR's round at Ruapuna

If that's the bike you are referring to, that's a very cool bit of kit. Proper engine too.

There were two Blackadder's if memory serves correct the first frame as a Ken Macintosh possibly recycled front e BOTT Vincent Hugh used to ride (I seen something the other day but I am not so sure about that. as I think Ken would just prefer to make one.

Spyda will know or know who does know?
the other not sure. but I think Lindsay destroyed the first one way back when Ruapuna still had trees I think it ended up in one?
They were 1100cc alloy cylinder sJerry branch headed XR1000 engines with a cr box doubt it needed a 5 speed. Harris pipes
It was a fast bike until the Ducati 4 valves took over. Also always immaculate.

these are the Daytona set up

I might be thinking of these

One of the Upper Hutt Nesbitt brothers ran a HD powered sidecar at TeMarua, looked very pretty, had Jerry Branch heads, slow as a wet week. Also, WRT to 5 speed, many years ago Streetbike featured a HD that was built in Waiararapa, had a 5 speed Kawasaki gearbox. Problem being that HD have the final drive on the wrong side, so the engine was reversed in the frame and ran, after suitable cam revisions, backwards.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Pretty sure due to the wheels this was Blackadder one or an earlier=r incarnation it later had 3 spoke marvics'

Ken built a short 1430mm wheelbase frame to fit around a Harley-Davidson XR1000 V-twin motor in 1985, using an Egli-type frame with a large diameter backbone.
And the rear suspension had a non-linkage monoshock. Lindsay Williamson was the rider of this unique machine featuring one of Ken’s beautifully sculpted fuel tanks as a highlight, weighing in at a paltry 175kg. This bike won the first NZ BEARS championship

This is the first version of the McIntosh-Harley XR1000 we built for Lindsay of CHCH Motorcycles for the first "BEARS" racing series, which Lindsay won. We designed and built it using the wheels, brakes and forks that were first used on my McIntosh-Egli-Vincent that Hugh Anderson rode to win the NZ "Battle of the Twins" series. The Vincent was then returned to NZCMRR Classic racing trim. The XR1000 was further developed with bigger brakes, wheels, forks and a shorter wheelbase frame. It was at the Classic Festival last year with Lindsay riding.

Not quite an Egli replica seeing as Fritz Egli never made an XR1000 engined bike nor ever used a Vincent style triangulated swingarm. But it was certainly inspired by my own Egli-Vincent.
Acording to Greg there were there
two for Lindsay and one for rich Italian collector

Pretty much std XR1000 motor, last time i saw it, the iron barrels were either painted silver or metalsprayed alloy. Never alloy barrels to my knowledge. All HD's of that era have a dry clutch Husa, under the cover...

Ken did at least 3 frames - blackadder 1 - up a tree at Ruapuna, blackadder 2 - still with lindsay i think - and the italian from CR & S who got a Britten ordered one too.

I am pretty sure I remember that Harley racebike from early SoT's and it was in Chch Motorcycles when they were in Tuam St. He had a Hesketh up in the rafters too unless the drugs are doing stuff to my memory. Does that sound right?
