I can see an old breed of renigade bikers reforming in the very near future. They will be the 21st century version of biker clubs from the 70s. they will buy or steal themselves a GSXR1000, R1, CBR1000 or ZX10. Not register it. Steal a number plate from someones scooter and ride the wheels off it. Never stop at check points and do a runner at every oppertunity. Some will die trying to get away and others will manage to escape. Motorcycling will become the hangout of the fringe element of society once again.

This is all fantastic news for those such as myself who have recently acquired their full license and were/are looking forward to selling off their 250 and getting something with a bit of grunt.

Hell, I don't care. They won't stop me. I'll get my next bike.

Most motorcyclists are too old and fat for that.

Not in my experiance mate. Most of my customers are in the 30 - 50 bracket. Even fat old riders can get a hussle on if motivated in the right way. Remember old does not mean slow it usually means experenced and reserved but with more knowledge and skill than young and thrusty riders who often rely on luck to get around the corner.
There are plenty left who will ride bikes despite the govt interferance but will be law breakers and criminals while doin it. Then resort back to their "normal" life when finished their ride

I was in London for the Poll Tax, we were in Lambeth and it was 250 quid but two streets away in Wandworth it was a lot less.
We managed to avoid it....but one flatmate tried to join the library and got whacked for 250.
I think they re branded it .....
We usen't pay the tv licence either but had the form filled in by the door just in case.....ah great days of bucking the system.
Always had MOT and tax though on the bike though....

So the question is "sell or keep?" and the answers are "yes" and "no"? What a fucked up poll.

been thinking about that, bit ironic isn't if ACC starts forking out crap loads to people doing the bolt because tehy dont have a registered bike? hmm what a coinsidense that the other day they came up with "no ACC when commiting a crime " huh" wankers

Valid point Laxi. But i doubt that will worry the future renigades. The riders that are already considering this as an option have probibly done similar things in the past. They accept the consiquences of their actions by dieing in pain alone at the side of the road. But then again lots of them live their life in a similar way. On the edge, havin fun and riskin it all.

Bite me biyach! Mine just sneaks into the fully arse raped bracket and shit I have been bummed that I just paid for a years rego on it. I guess it's the 'currently cheap' fee paid but I'm really wondering about whether I bother keeping it on the road when the van and the car are more versatile...Sully won't give up on the bike transport capable Dirty White Van. Perhaps racing is where it's at in the future

Criminals with no rego? Yes. Stealing gixxer thous and doing a runner at every opportunity? Probably not. Admittedly I don't know your customers.

Why? I have access to a Zebra printer (prints RUCs), Gimp is a free form of photoshop. Checkpoints only ever make visual inspections.
