My fxr150 decided to get away from under me!

Thanks warren for the pics... Looks like time for some hammer action on the right peg... Does everyone think this will be ok? or will I be better off getting it into a workshop? As for the front frame, it looks easy enough to bend back which is great.

Don't worry about who is behind you. If you stall, you stall. If you happen to be rolling forward, keep it rolling.

Pull in clutch, thumb starter and try again. While you were thumbing the starter, use your foot to double check you're actually in first gear.

Now take your time and try again gently with extra care not to stall and not to over gun it.

Panic is your worst enemy and as you've discovered can cause expensive wheel stands.

At least you get boasting rights for getting the front end up on an FXR. Just neglect to tell people the *finer* details.
Best of luck for repairs though, it sucks dropping your bike and it feels even worse when its in front of people..

The only reason I know this is because I binned my bike on Sunday, and the rider footpegs (not pillion) on my bike is more of a rail (single piece), and that's quite bent on the brackets. Hammer it out yourself, it'll save you a lot of money, and you'll get 15XP points

The fxr has an incredibly fast clutch which is a real pain in the ass if you aren't used to it.

Heh, I was actually trying to do a wheely when I flipped mine.

Damn can't find the mallet. Will have to go out and buy one to fix the bike...

Okay, so I've been going at it today with a mallet and It wouldn't move at all. I bent the front metal frame out a bit but the fit is really dodgy... Still ridable though (got no indicators until monday since supercheap and repco doesn't have the indicator bulbs for fxr150 and the cover for brake light is only half there - had too much time this morning so I got the broken pieces together and started supergluing. It seems I only recovered half the fragments from the road though) Went for a nice ride today, stayed out of town so I don't have to indicate...

Anyone have any tips on how to move the peg in?

I know what you mean with that. The same thing happened when I dropped mine. I found the easiest way to straighten that was to remove the front fairing, then put whats left of the mirror back on. It makes a really good handle to push on and its not too hard to bend that way. Bad luck mate. Hope you get the bike sorted quickly

So the whole deal with the bike being damaged and out of action (well it still should be but I ride it without the rear covers and working right hand mirror anyway...

)

It's amazing how much you learn from falling off though. Since then I haven't stalled once at the lights and haven't got the front up again!... Better not get too confident. haven't even fixed damages yet. - though techinically it's better than binning AFTER having fixed the damages right?
