Mid morning did the run out to Whitemans Valley and back before the drizzle came in.

This weekend also saw a wee off I got to admit, u-turn and touched the curb.
    bummer it happens.

Sorry to hear about your off! Trust all is well?

Had an awesome ride today, wrote about it here.....http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=35037.

Would write it all again, but I get enough "repost" messages as it is, without reposting my own post.

NOWHERE! Damn motorbikes don't run without a sump, radiator and exhaust system.

Talking 1st ride out to the Coro

Sorry to hear about that Buckbuck, but at least it was a learning point and not one that costed flesh or too many $$'s (I hope!), pride is easily replaced!

I got up early and did a run out to the Coromandel today, 6.30am and nary a motorist in sight - roads to myself, lovely! Did the twisties and refilled up at the BP before guiding my bike back to its previous owners desmesne.

We had a good yarn then I had to head back home to make it for Fathers day lunch with me dad and family! Pretty good fuel economy... 7 litres to travel 160kms!

The more I ride, the more I want to ride... 4 weeks I've had the bike - 1800kms clocked up!

Ooh..learning how to edit and post the thread I wrote on this!

Did the Scenic drive, backtracked along it and then went out towards Bethells... turned right over the bridge and took back roads out towards Helensville and back again.

Got home, 2 hours later did the Scenic drive again and a few other fun backroads near my house.

I pulled up to an intersection today, went to put my foot down but my draggins cuff got caught around my break resevoir guard and down I went, so slowly it was pathetic, broken indicator lense, I can only imagine how dumb it looked to the cages around me. Puting elastic in the cuffs tonight.

    I laugh about it now

    B U G G E R ! ! !

Haven't done it myself, but nearly, a couple of times. A quick look around and hope to hell noone saw it (Shame!).

But, it happens, could have been worse!

Just think that everyone else is like me, didn't see a thing, and wouldn't have known unless you said.

    Chin up, and start sewing.

Came back to Tokoroa from Coromandel Town after an unbelievably good ride up in the dark on Friday night. Set off at 1130 today and saw a handful of bikes heading up that way but given that it was gorgeous weather, surprisingly few until I hit SH1 at Tirau and saw a heap of returning Cold Kiwi bikers. A cop-free day apart from the radar detector going off south of Matamata, source unknown. Must have been on another road.

    Extract from above:
    Rock on, and Ride Safe!

PS. No shame in riding slow as a learner, and that means learning to ride, and learning the road. There is shame in having a stupid bin. Put your L on, and don't be afraid to be last in the race to a cofin. End Extract

    Well said Ozzie

That sinking feeling in the stomach - when you know it's not a big thing but it's the pride that really feels it.

    Heads Up and Enjoy

Ah well, at least you can laugh about it - minor oopsie and all! I would rather relate a hundred of those silly little things then a major! And at least you can post it and talk about it!

I was wondering about those jeans, where do you get them from? (Draggin' Jeans are they called?)

I've got a similar sort of thing, not the dragin brand, but kevlar reinforced jeans. Comfortable and in theory fine, don't know about practice, but don't want to find out either.

Biggest thing for me is no padding (armour?), you bin, no grazes, no loss of skin, but still broken knee cap. Saw an article where a guy was doing a review of some 500 cc bike, was wearing similar stuff, but obviously had installed pads, a good idea i think, might try it.

Dragins are expensive, arround 250 i think, mine were 175. I dont skimp on safety, but am not a sucker either,,,,,,I think,,,,,,or hope????
