    Great ride today!! (3 September)

finally got a sunday off, so decided to head out to the sanson markets and also the bi-monthly otaki markets.
started out later than planned, and the sky looked shit..grey in all directions. got dressed, grabbed my wallet and hit the road. by the time i got out to kaitoke, the sun was peeking out and the whole day was looking better!
got caught up behind a morris minor type car...stayed a decent pace behind it. all the cars that overtook me sat right on their ass, which is why i hung back...i know how annoying it is. good driver pulled off just outside turakina...just long enough let me by, then they pulled back out and held all the cars up, lol. gave them a toot and a wave as i went by. good people!
stopped at sanson and wondered what was up with all the bikes going by...finally remembered....cold kiwi. didnt buy anything at sanson....nothing of interest today.
headed out on the straits and stopped again at levin savemart, which is down the sidestreet just before the bp. coming out again, i waited till it was essentially clear...nothing to my right, and one car a ways off on my left. pulled out and accelerated to get out of the way. so happens that one car took exception and came right up behind me...wanker. some cut off mercedes thing.
stopped again at otaki markets, my main destination. found a revell 1:8 scale harley heritage softail for $40! only had $20 on me...the lovely people selling put their faith in a complete stranger to post them the other half [in the mail already!]
had a couple of light showers...just enough to get a bit damp, but dry by the time the cloud broke again.
saw heaps of bikes...the best being a group of 3, one towing a trailer, a solo bike and the third was a sidecar outfit also towing a trailer. got waves from all 3, and waved back, but i think the first rider missed mine...he beat me to it!

all in all an awesome day...great day for a ride. hope all the riders out there had a great day too and got home safely.

Good to hear Sun, a little wet, but a good day. Plenty of riders out, even up here.

We had a bit of a jaunt (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=35037) was really good. Home safe, great ride, few chance meetings with other riders, plenty of waves, I love being a biker, this is what life is for!

Sounds like you had a blast! And you found a model bike to boot - bonus! I can't wait till I head out back to Welly way in September, I usually drive down to Welly about 5-6 times a year but this time I'll do it by bike!

Good to hear you had a safe ride not withstanding idiot cagers and enjoying the sight of other bikers on the road!
