When you're creating a new post, before pushing the submit button, scroll down the screen and you'll see a manage attachments facility for uploading most file types, including pictures. Don't forget to tick the box if it contains nudity or some moderator will infract your arse.

Also take note of the maximum size of the images of each type allowed. When your pix don't appear it is because theu are too big. There's no explanation nor warning, they expect that you read all of the info they took time to write and post there.

Obviously you don't read the warning message it gives you when the filetype is too large. It even tells you how big it is and what the limit for the filetype you are uploading.
