enjoyed the roads after the first pub stop. great open roads .. not much traffic .. sighs that was nice

definately showing my noob status that would have to have been the biggest ride to date .. but glad to hear others are just as shattered .. thought that was my inexperience showing

Betsy is booked in for surgery tomorrow .. checked all the wires, fuses today could not find anything wrong - U4ea & I went for a quick blat to pram, no lights or ypvs all the way down or home ... & she is definately sluggish without it .. since i dunna have a speedo she is tapped out around 6.5 thou revs .. normally easily does 8

anyhow got back home .. parked in front of garage .. turned off .. thought hmmm turned on & presto .. everything works

so my question becomes ... is there a loose connection or a short ... or is the battery discharging while not running .. & taking quite a few ks to charge again .. ?? anyone help with that one ??
Have you got a multimeter? Check battery with bike not running/then running. Take it for a ride and check again and compare results. Then leave bike overnight and check again. This should tell you if the battery is charging or losing power when idle.

If the battery is fine now, it is unlikely (but possible) that it has run flat twice. More likely there is a problem in the connection from the battery to the main battery bus. That should be a relatively simple fix once the break in the system is tracked down. It's just a matter of finding it!

I don't have one or even know how to work it .. but I know thats what mechanic did last time cause he was telling me while he was doing it, & am guessing that will be first order of business tomorrow

& I am guessing that is the hard part .. finding the break .. cause I had seat tank lifted & looked carefully but could not find it .. but then I am not mechanically minded either

Herbetville would be farely central. With HB crowd coming from Havelock North, Elsthorp, Patangata, Waipuk, Wimbleton etc and us lot Balance, Pahiatua, Pongaroa, Weber, Wimbleton. Maybe all form up at Wimbleton and toodle off to Herbetville. It's been a while since I've been out there though. Apperently it's become a bach haven.

Probably could tee it up with Dutchy at Wimbleton to make sure he's not golfing a few weeks before hand(Ahhh! another excuse for a ride maybe and do Ant's little loop road . So we know there's emergency gas if needed for those with limited fuel capcity/range.

PS: chanceyy'll be able to reminess about the ol Herbertville ralleys

    Hey Crew,
    GREAT ride
Loved the company, comrade and rides.
Yeah, sure was a little disjointed here and there, but that just added to the fun
I'm slowly getting used to KB rides. The biggest difference is really only the amount of times we stop. I mostly used to ride with smaller groups, and we pretty much only stopped for gas!
    I'm not complaining, just adjusting!

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the HB crew and seeing the Manawatu crew again too!

Glad you liked the suspension tweeks Cowboy.

I'm well impressed with Sandras skill level and endurance under stress! Way to go girl, I'm proud of ya

Wasp27, Thanks for showing what a well ridden cruiser is capable of!

Bonez, love watching you ride, you sure know how to spank that poor Honda single

Thanks everyone else for making it such a good day

Oh yeah, I like to be called Anthony rather than Ant please. (that nick name is like a little forest fire that pops up every few years or so and needs stamping out hehehe )

As we did you in a social setting
Perhaps if you made a big improvement, you should have a look at mine too? Sometime.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

My bad. It was certainly nice too see the broad spectrem of bikes/riders alright. I'm off over to Havelock North tomorrow to see the olds. Propably leave 9.30/10amish anyone interested PM me. Weather doesn't look good, but who knows. The met office have had it wrong before. I'm heading over recardless though.

    thanks Anthony ..

well it appears the probs with the RZ could be in the ignition switch .. still had power this morning but by time I arrived in Levin it was dying again .. battery is holding a charge even though it was almost flat, but wiggle the key & it will either cut out completely or get stronger, anyhow have it home for the weekend & it will be in on Tues to have the whole ignition system pulled apart ..

recitfier/regulator is working fine & no other breaks in the wiring, all connections are fine as well ...

soooooooooooo hopefully it will be a easy fix on tues
