    Advice On 97' GSXR 750

    Hey All,

Well its nearly that time, time for a new bike. Ive really taken a liking to the 97GSXR 750's. Love the look, i am yet to take one for a spin but was wondering on any advice and feed back.

Ive got about 5.5K to spend so any other advice be good.

no 1000cc machines (not yet anyway.....)
    looking 600-750cc machines

    Cheers guys

Fancy jumping about 100hp, eh? Don't know the Oz market so can't comment on $. But as a bike, they are right up there. Look for one that has been well serviced all it's life and pay particular attention to things like steering head bearings etc as many have been 'stunted' which is hard on the aforementioned
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

get a 98-99... they are fuel injected instead of carbs like the 97... other than that the same bike really... SRAD's rock

I think injection started with the '99 model. The model letter is 'V'.
EDIT: - ooops, I meant 'X'. And OAB is right...http://www.suzukicycles.org/GSX-R-se...X-R750_c.shtml

WT is '96, WV is '97, both run carbs. 1998 was the first of the injected 750's.

Had a 98 GSXR750 myself. Fantastic bike. I still see it going well hard at the track. One of the best looking GSXRs too. Should have kept it. They had a camchain tensioner recall and suzuki Australia can tell you if a particular bike has been sorted.

    Congrats on the cricket too.

As jimbo600 says, make sure the camchain tensioner has been done.

I'd buy the bike that suits me best, ie riding position, comfort, power, styling, etc. Both the R6 and the 750 are good bikes, each good at what they do. Ride them both and make your decision from there.

Dude, seriously, stay off the drugs. Yes I am a GSXR fan, but you see there is good reason for that. The ZX7R is a good bike, quite good looking as well. But, it is about 25kg heavier than the SRAD 750, and about 15hp down. The ZX7R is an older design, whereas the SRAD range was a completely new design.

That's because there's not one bad thing about the SRAD 750's. Has got to be one of the most pure fun bikes I have ridden. Buy it, the only thing you'll ever regret about it, is selling it.
