LOL LOL...woah woah woah........just being a little light hearted.

All that stuff about NZ was stuff I found charming. I mean, I really meant most of it as a joke on us yanks......example would be the big vs. small cups. The reality is that you guys actually have your drink sizes right.....its us yanks that drink supersize and wonder why they have to redesign baseball stadiums to seat less people b/c of our fat asses............The joke about the "Spanish" mexican food was soooo true. But it happens to us over in the sates too....only with Indian food which we pay $$$ for. Nothing to take offense at.

The Australian thing........well thats true.......but only in the outback!! The rest of Aussie was great. Either way, part of my family is Aussie to begin with so I've got a license for that one hehe.

In all seriousness, of course all Aussies in the outback arnt red necks. I was only making those sorts of gross generalizations in a light hearted way. Didnt mean to offend. I was, however, surprised by the commonality between Mississippians and some of the people I ran into in the outback..........and I will never understand what this Aussie rules mumbo jumbo is all about............

It was like some Maori was gonna jump out of the bushes and wack me because I said the word Maori in conversation or something. I thought it was all a little silly really and I ended up meeting a bunch of great Maori who were the freindliest people one could ever hope to meet. Somehow I dont think the mean streets of Auckland (assuming they even exist) produce quite the level of asshole as the mean streets of LA or Chicago or NYC or Durham or Tampa..........
I referred to the kiwi - flightless bird, our mascot (if you like), endangered. Don't run one over. Treason is still on the statutes here.
Quite right about the friendly Maoris - but like every colour they are not all great people.
Wait until you've walked a mile in Otara before you jump to conclusions about 'the mean streets...'
PS you're not WINJA by any chance - we miss him.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Nope, but you've managed to get me interested in this Winja guy though! I mean, the implications to mother earth should there be another like me on the planet at the same time.......its just too terrible to even begin to really ponder seriously without more beer.

hehe MSTRS yet again I lose a little in the translation there........sorry for the slow pick up on my part.......please account for the fact that I am raging drunk( well, more like mellowed out drunk really) at the moment, its 3:42 AM my time, and I dont have to set the alarm because I dont have to work tommorrow!!!

In fact, the only reason to even get up, besides the fact that it would be utterly depressing and unforgivable to sleep all day on my day off, is that my mate is getting an SV-650 and Im gonna be there to test it out with him before he actually puts down the cash.

But dont worry, Im usually faster on the uptake when Im sober. Err or is it the other way around......ah hell. I might just be even worse in the morning. Cant remmember if Im smarter sober or drunk. Bloody hell.

Sure we can read it in Context but where would be the fun in QUOTING you in context?

    Welcome to KB.

I'm a dirty immigrant here too - only been to Ch'Ch twice - traffic jams both times - made me long for Auckland.

You see Christchurch on the news lots though - hit and run, hit and run, boy racer, hooker murdered, hit and run yadda yadda yadda.

    Sounds a neat place.....

    nope,

    (shameful repost but relevant)

In one episode of 'Cheers', Cliff is seated at the bar describing the 'Buffalo Theory' to his buddy Norm. I don't think I've ever heard the concept explained any better than this...

"Well you see, Norm, it's like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive drinking of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers."
