Almost, given we had arranged an 11 am start we left Green Island at 12.20! We had a wee fashion parade first from MS (and had to get the Harley back out of the dining room) then BotB lost a nut! Yeah it was a shame we missed you. And yes we do know who is a very slow packer, did you get to witness the teeth brushing in the kitchen sink too while you waited???? But she has a brilliant smile

Just realised I've missed out a whole page of postings, duh. will pour myself another drink.
So some of us are going to Chch, some are going to Geraldine, those who don't want to go quite that far, what are we going to do, given its meant to be 18 degrees tomorrow?

Well... was starting to be a great ride. Sun was shining, nice and warm, good roads, traffic was good... Bike had just been in for a service so i thought should be good to go... Was starting to get into the groove just before palmerston when bike starting making a really bad sounding knocking noise... ouch i thought that doesn't sound so good.. so nana'd it into palmerston and stopped at the garage. Got the guy there to have a listen and he said it doesn't sound good I'd be very careful. (thankyou guy from shell)
So gave the team a ring as I was a bit stranded and didn't want to make it any worse. Fantastic bunch they were organised Alan to bring his ute out to save my poor wee green thing. Thankyou very very much, you lot are life savers!
So we had a coffee at the railway cafe thing, then I headed back in the ute and put it back in the garage. will book it in first thing monday.

So not really very happy with the work they did on it... Asked them to install the heated grips I'd brought off them, and discovered they cut out if I put my lights on high beam... And its not idling well... randomly stalling even when warm. Ie come to a stop to make sure team is ok and putta puttta ... Stall.
And now this... bad knocking noise when riding (with any kind of throttle, but not with no throttle) and also when still in neutral, if I rev it over 4k rpm.
Will be getting them to pick it up monday morning to find out what they broke :S
Was working perfectly and fantastically before the service.... Just thought I'd take it in for a oil change and going over make sure everything is ok.

Again, special thanks to Alan for coming out in the cage instead of being able to enjoy the fantastic riding weather we had today...

I know a couple of people that have had issues at MCR and M&V were the only ones that had the gear to fix the dent thingie on my rim, so thought they may as well do the service too... and was recommended by someone else so thought why not....

Oh and just had a call from Pheadrus he managed to get a bit lost and found a loooong gravel road... and is now in Kurow lol. With no fuel, and no open service station, and no card pump... But found a motel so is crashing there the night.

No need for motel and grief, we live but 27km away damn it, petrol, trailer, beds, food, etc etc. just holler, were in the "local" phone book! John.

Errr..hem, of course not in the book under "oldrider" that might make things a bit awkward I spose!

Cheers John, have txt'd him to let him know. So surname not required for that area eh? Phone book just has John, Bill, and Frank in it?

Not sure if I caught him intime I think he was just outside the motel.

Lucky I wasn't quite that far away from dunedin today!

Hope its not too serious J but it don't sound good - just out of interest why didn't you go to the Kawasaki dealer?
Somehow you also need to get an accurate and honest diagnosis of the problem - for example if there was something wrong with the way a filter was put in during the service and the top end starved of oil (bit far fetched that one maybe) - so you can know whether its just coincidence this happened after the service or whether someone did something wrong and they should accept liability for fixing it.
If its something like a cam chain thats slipped because it should have been replaced then they couldn't have known that and its coincidence.
    Got any get fit plans???
