    License question

    Hey all,
This is my first post here, quick intro. My names Rob, I'm American, I've been living in NZ for almost 2 years.....yup thats about it on to the question.
Do you need to have a motorcycle license in NZ to ride a Trike, in the States all thats needed is a car license. I've been trying to find the answer online but there seems to little to no real information about it and the LTSA website dont seem to have any info on it at all but then I found kiwibiker and I'm thinking someone here has GOT to know. PLEASE HELP.

Your time and knowledge is much appreciated. Thanks

Why don't you phone Land Transport helpdesk 0800 822 422 and ask, or email them info@landtransport.govt.nz

    They must know...

I think it might depend on whether it is registered as a bike or a car. For some reason, at least it used to be, some trikes could be registered as cars in which case wearing a helmet was not necessary...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Yeah I think that still stands, Although I imagine our ginga friend on SH16 (and his buddies) will pull you over if your not wearing a helmet.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Re the licence err... dunno. Ring the LTSA as suggested

...I thought (was once told) in that case you had to have a seat-belt. (You don't get it both ways).

A trike can be ridden on either a car or bike licence. Much like a moped

If it's registered as a car, you don't even need to wear a helmet (referring to Billy Conolly's New Zealand tour)
