Well I've been a member even longer than you (nya nya) and I have my car insured with them but they won't even insure me because I have a learner's license. Not even 3rd party!

I told them I was on a learners, that was fine.

When I rang back to say that a broker had spanked them, the reply was immediate "We can't beat that."

Doing a little too well perhaps? Or just don't give a crap...

Either way, off to JB to sign on the dotted line this arvo. Bit gutted though, got to take the cage, hard to carry an office chair back on the bike

    Update

Well I have just completed my insurance for the next year....all i can say is if you don't get a quote from Tim aka Jetboy from here, you guys must be mad!!!!!!!!!!!

He has made this entire process so damn easy..all done today via PM and has been able to undercut quote from my own broker an thrown in roadside assistance as well. I am now insured with Star Insurance (as of 17/12) and am a very happy little biker....

    Thanks Tim...you rock
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead
Do not walk ahead as I may not follow.
Do not walk beside me as the path is narrow
In fact FU*K off and leave me alone

    Blah insurance

i went with swann insurance through kiwibike.co.nz or 0800629253,they gave me several options but swann were cheapest,as long as bike is under 20yrs as the parts are problem for some, mine was not quite when i applied at time.

Just spoke to Classic Cover today - you need to be over 30 AND have had your full license for two years to be covered by them.

I just got off the phone with Jetboy (Tim) and I was very impressed with what he offered. Very competitive rate and he gives excellent customer service, I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him and his company to all who are looking at getting or renewing their bike insurance and no I don't get a discount for posting this

    Have a good day all

Hi, i'm 18 looking at getting a 225cc Yamaha Scorpio, looking at brand new seeing as i can't see any second hand's around the place. I'll be getting my learners on the weekend hopefully and buying a bike when summer rolls back around, but I really want to know how much third party fire and theft insurance would be for me to insure it myself...or should i put the bike in my parents name and have them pay for me to be the named driver? it works out cheaper for the car
