G'day...Never been on forums before, so a bit of a virgin really. I had to spend about an hour going through the (very helpful) FAQs to know half of what I'm supposed to be doing. All that fun apart, I ride a Honda VTR 250, with an after market twin carbon pipes system fitted, so she sounds more like a 600 Ducati. Am just in love with that VTwin Purrrr... You will often find me hanging around bike shops, with my nose squiched against the window, dreaming of a day when I can afford an Extra Raptor or the racing SV1000. Also, I'd have to be dying to miss a Cold Kiwi and just went to the Cold Duck on my own steam for the first time this year! NOW, what I'd like to know from you wisened, knowledgeable riders out there is: when is it right to upgrade to a bigger bike??? I so confused....

Wouldn't have expected any less! And yes, I may need to buil up more skill before I can pretend to keep up with the best, but by crickey, be sure I'm gonna give it more than a good shot.

... I don't feel like upgrading but a lot of my (male) friends are bikers ... and they have all been asking me what i would get next.
As far as I'm concerned, I've only started to scratch the surface of what my litlle ride can do, so am quite happy with her really.

I think you have answered your own question.
As others have said, ride it until you are getting the maximum ability out of it and then start thinking about upgrading. Having the $$$'s to upgrade dosen't mean that you have to.

i agree upgrade when ya feel ready or when your bored of the 250s power i done australia twice once on a 250 and then on the 900 the fuel economy was better on the 250 bless it but better down the great ocean rd on the 900 .
the roads are a little rougher here i reakon so ill stick to the 850 naked style i dont like breaking fairings

One day you'll just see another bike that you must have, then buy it ! Simple as that. Don't worry about things like getting your knee down or being totally outriding your VTR. They're great bikes (I'm thinking of getting one myself) and you only need to upgrade when you want to. Ciao4now.
