    Words you don't hear anymore.

Chatting to mum on the phone last night and she called me a "nincumpoop" because of me putting a knife throught my hand while stabbing holes into an ice cream container.

Kinda made me think. What other words do you know that used to be well used and have now faded into oblivion. SARGE recently brought back "douchebag" as well.

The words don't have to be insults or jibes, but what others were "cool" back in the day
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

    Trollop. I definitely miss Trollop.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Hmmm, very true, and along those lines, you don't hear "wench" anymore.

    "Robot" as in traffic light
    "Now now" as in later

    I still use that one.

I think a lot of the words that are re surfacing, are being used in a deifferent context, and often more specific. The "trollop", for example, is what I now call one of the silly young girls, who try to make them selves look older and sexy by hangin it all out. By young I mean 14ish. Where my understanding is it used to be reference to any woman with easy virtue. They are now just skanky, or maybe sl#@s, (I cant say that word, it dont sit right with me).

    Anyhoo, just my two cents

I always spelt it "mole", but that it has been a while since I used or heard it. Goodo is till about in general use tho. Dickwad however I think should stay dead, it makes no sense. Knob jokey has dissapeared into obscurity, and that one is farkin funny.

I don't know if it's a regional thing, but one I haven't heard since high school is "Hoad". Any one else heard that one before? Seems a little strange writing or saying it after 15 odd years. I grew up in Gisborne and it'd be interesting to know if any one from there remeber's it. Mrs Kendog you're from Gissy eh?

Funmny you should post this, Sniper. Talking to Canarlee the other day, comparing words in (or out of) use meaning great. Choice, tops, grouse, super, bitching, cool, heavy, rocking....
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
